　　In the past five years, we have persisted in strengthening the overall leadership of the Party and the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, made every effort to promote the process of building a well-off society in an all-round way, implemented the new development concept completely, accurately and comprehensively, made great efforts to promote high-quality development, actively constructed a new development pattern, pushed forward reforms at a steady pace, solidly promoted people’s democracy throughout the process, comprehensively promoted the rule of law, actively developed advanced socialist culture, highlighted the protection and improvement of people’s livelihood, and concentrated our efforts on the fight against poverty. We solemnly celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the seventieth anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China (PRC), made the third historical resolution, carried out the study and education of party history in the whole party, built the communist party History Exhibition Hall in China, and called on the whole party to study and practice the great spirit of party building, so as to remember the initial mission more firmly and consciously in the new journey and create a better future. Faced with the separatist activities of the "Taiwan independence" forces and the serious provocation of external forces’ interference in Taiwan Province affairs, we resolutely launched a major struggle against separatism and interference, demonstrating our strong determination and strong ability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity and oppose "Taiwan independence", further grasping the strategic initiative to realize the complete reunification of the motherland, and further consolidating the pattern of the international community’s adherence to one China. The average life expectancy has increased to 78.2 years. The per capita disposable income of residents increased from 16,500 yuan to 35,100 yuan. The average number of new jobs in cities and towns is more than 13 million. The largest education system, social security system and medical and health system in the world have been built, and the level of education popularization has achieved a historic leap. The basic old-age insurance covers 1.04 billion people, and the participation rate of basic medical insurance has stabilized at 95%. Adjust the birth policy in time.
