The mainland’s support for the 24-hour operation of the Hong Kong anti-epidemic special class has exceeded the demand for the first batch of seven types of materials.
CCTV News:In order to support Hong Kong’s anti-epidemic, the mainland-aided anti-epidemic special class has held four dispatching meetings, exceeding the demand for the first batch of seven types of materials, and completing the mapping of the second batch of enterprises in urgent need of medical materials. At present, Shenzhen has opened three fresh transportation channels for Hong Kong to ensure the stability of the supply chain of living materials for Hong Kong.
The mainland’s support for Hong Kong’s anti-epidemic special class involves 10 departments including the National Health and Wellness Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and relevant departments in Guangdong Province, and several working groups have been set up according to different division of labor. The special class held four dispatching meetings and issued a series of measures to help Hong Kong fight the epidemic.
On the evening of February 18th, the Hong Kong SAR Government put forward the list of the first batch of materials, including N95 masks, rapid antigen detection reagent kits and Lianhua Qingwen capsules. In order to ensure the transportation of materials, Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City adopted a "two-step" transit transportation mode and opened two connection points. On February 19th, the demand for the first batch of materials was overfulfilled.

On the 20th, the Hong Kong SAR Government put forward the second batch of urgently needed medical materials list, including 157 million surgical masks, 19 million pairs of surgical gloves, 3.62 million protective clothing, 6.45 million thermometers and 194 million pieces of alcohol paper. At present, the special class has completed the survey of the second batch of enterprises in urgent need of medical supplies, and the production capacity in the mainland can fully meet the demand, and the goods are being sent according to the requirements of the SAR government.


On the 21st, Shenzhen opened the first fresh-keeping special line for normal operation in the Mainland, and the first batch of about 200 tons of fresh goods for Hong Kong arrived in Hong Kong that night.

After passing the sampling inspection, the food is immediately transported to the Cheung Sha Wan wholesale market for distribution. In the afternoon, Hong Kong citizens can buy these fresh foods in Shangchao.
