Recently, the police of Chengdong Squadron of Traffic Police Brigade of Kunshan Public Security Bureau in Suzhou received an alarm, claiming that a 6-car rear-end collision occurred on Weishanhu Road, Dongcheng Avenue.

After on-site investigation, the police found that the accident was caused by the brake failure of a heavy truck. According to Qi Mou, the driver of the heavy truck, when he was driving the vehicle from north to south along Dongcheng Avenue to the downhill of Chenxi Bridge, the road was slippery because of the rain, and the brakes themselves were a bit problematic, so the speed was faster when going downhill, so he hit a red and green vehicle such as Weishan Lake intersection. Because it was a heavy truck, the vehicle couldn’t stop at all, and then it hit five vehicles in a row. One of the white cars actually made a 360-degree rotation after the collision, and it hit a sanitation vehicle parked at a non-motor vehicle crossing. Fortunately, there were no casualties. After identification, the driver Qi took full responsibility for the accident.

Police tips: when the road is slippery in rainy days and the truck is loaded with goods when going downhill, the speed should not be too fast. The braking distance of the truck is already large, so you should slow down the speed early and start braking early outside the safe distance to avoid accidents.
