Can telemarketing be answered but not dialed back: the indicator requires customers to come from APP.
It is estimated that many people have received similar sales calls, which makes people uncomfortable but helpless. So, how did the sales call evolve into a harassing call? Who the hell is calling us and in what way? How do they know our personal information? What should we do about these rampant harassing calls? CCTV’s "Focus Interview" reporter deeply harassed the telephone base camp and conducted an investigation.
Most mobile phone users will not be unfamiliar with sales calls, and many people will receive a dozen or even twenty sales calls a day. These sales calls are amazing. You can call outside, but you can’t call back. If you want to call back, the telemarketers will leave another mobile phone number. Can only pick up but can’t return, how is this done?
The reporter inquired about "telemarketing" positions on some recruitment websites, and found that many recruitment units offered salaries that sounded quite good, such as double salary commission and double salary at the end of the year, to attract employment, while the fields with large demand for them were mainly concentrated in insurance, wealth management, real estate, education and training and other sales industries.
The reporter first came to a real estate sales company. The scale of this company is not large. There are a dozen workstations. Each telemarketer has a computer in front of him. They wear headphones and keep talking, but they don’t see them dialing by landline or mobile phone.
Some staff told reporters that they dial through the computer system instead of manually dialing, so one person can make hundreds of calls a day.
The daily indicator requires calling for 7 hours and talking for 3 hours.
Another company that sells telephone insurance has a much larger scale. In the five-story office area, four floors are all such telephone sales stations. Some staff told reporters that there are more than 600 people selling by phone, not counting managers. Their goal this year is to achieve 1,000 people.
The reporter saw that the telemarketers on the phone spoke very quickly, some with manuscripts in their hands, some with words on the computer, and their mouths were endless. According to reports, they have their own set of special speech skills, and there are daily call length indicators, including the dial-up requirements, 3 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon, a total of 7 hours, and they are required to talk to others for no less than 3 hours every day.
It is understood that it is the requirement of many telemarketing companies to stipulate the basic number and duration of calls every day. In order to complete the daily call task, the telemarketers have to keep answering and trying to keep the other party on the line.
Similarly, this insurance company doesn’t need to make calls manually, and 500 or 600 telemarketers are automatically operated and assigned by the computer system. A telemarketing employee surnamed Liu told the reporter that the computer dials automatically. After dialing, the system will automatically find the operator, and the operator will automatically answer and cannot control it by himself. At about the same time, it is no problem to dial more than 50 numbers. Of course, most people will hang up the phone when they hear that it is telemarketing. In Xiao Liu’s view, success is still very difficult.
Automatic group calling without upper limit, low cost, and making money by issuing orders.
The success rate of telemarketing is not very high, so why are there still many companies that use telemarketing? Xiao Liu told reporters that telemarketing only needs to pick up a special telephone line, which is basically an uncapped package and can be played casually every month. The telemarketers all take the model of basic salary plus performance and commission, but in fact its labor cost is very low.
The reporter visited a number of telemarketing companies in succession to investigate, and automatic group calling by computer system is a common means for these telemarketing companies, which is easy to dial and low in cost, and once the bill is issued, it can make money. And a large number of sales calls come uninvited, which makes the majority of mobile phone users really annoyed and uncomfortable.
Customer data source: free insurance, APP personal data.
So, who is the sales call to? Where do customer resources come from? In this regard, these sales companies also have their own methods.
The reporter saw that in the computer system of telemarketers, the information of mobile phone users is clear at a glance. The customer information that is usually dialed will be saved by the telemarketers to their own customer resource library, and then they need to be dialed repeatedly.
In addition, because dialing through the computer, the displayed number often changes, which is difficult for telephone users to distinguish. In addition to chasing old customers repeatedly, the customer resources of telemarketing companies will continue to be updated. A staff member told the reporter that for telemarketing, data is life, not food, because there is data to achieve performance. In addition to some of its own databases, the rest of the customer resources are general quality data, and the data source is bought.
It is understood that there are two main sources of customers for telemarketing companies: one is the free insurance channel, and the other is the personal data left by some online APP platforms.
Intermediary service agencies cast nets all over the sky to call for customers, which is a marketing model that walks in a gray area. A company called you once or twice, and it didn’t steal or cheat. It doesn’t seem to be a big deal. However, many sales organizations in the society do this, which is extremely annoying and disturbing to users. This kind of unsolicited harassing phone calls has become a public hazard, which is not so much providing services as annoying anti-services. In an honest society, merchants should win customers by quality, service and reputation, instead of forced sales. As for those acts of collecting, trading and revealing citizens’ personal information for the so-called precision marketing, they have already violated the law.
