Hunan, a major grain-producing province, has implemented an early rice planting area of 18.16 million mu this year. At present, the early rice harvesting progress in the province has been completed by more than 85%, and the yield per unit area is slightly higher than that of the previous year. The early rice harvest is in sight.

In the past few days, the high-standard farmland rice waves in the Dongting Lake Plain have been rolling, and large harvesters have been working continuously, and farmers have seized the sunny and hot weather to step up harvesting. Since the beginning of this year, in view of the unfavorable factors such as rising agricultural prices, Hunan has strengthened policy support, increased grain subsidies, accelerated the breeding and promotion of high-quality hybrid rice varieties, and combined with the creation of high-yield demonstration films, radiation has driven large-scale production increase.

The steady development of grain production lies in increasing farmers’ benefit of growing grain. In order to improve quality and increase efficiency, Taoyuan County has built 623,500 mu of high-standard farmland, and each farmland has built a canal, added ecological weirs and ponds, and implemented measures such as soil improvement and green planting promotion. The utilization rate of soil, water and fertilizer has been significantly improved. According to the current harvest situation of early rice, the agricultural department estimates that the average yield per mu is 430 kilograms, an increase of about 6% over the previous year.

Scientific and meticulous harvesting is the key to ensure that rice particles are returned to the warehouse. At present, nearly 1 million sets of all kinds of agricultural machinery and tools in the province have been put into the "main battlefield" for harvesting and planting. The technical experts sent by the agricultural department went down to the fields to give precise guidance according to the situation of each paddy field. In the demonstration plot of 10,000 mu of high yield in Dingcheng District, Changde, under the guidance of technicians, the agricultural machinery hand adjusted the harvester cutter to an appropriate height, effectively reducing the harvesting loss rate.
