Global News: Is the American Banking Crisis Back? Risk aversion rose sharply, and US stocks closed down across the board.

On Tuesday, local time, US stocks finally got rid of the light market trend for more than a week, but unfortunately it was not a big rise but a big drop. The three major indexes closed down across the board, with the Dow down more than 300 points and the Nasdaq down 2%.

On the one hand, the power of the earnings season began to show, and giants such as McDonald’s and UPS warned that the macroeconomic prospects were not good in the earnings report. On the other hand, the deposits of Daiwa Bank in the United States dropped by 40%, and UBS’s net profit in the first quarter halved, all of which highlighted that the banking crisis had not completely subsided and the market risk aversion was ignited.

On Monday, the First Total Bank disclosed that even though Wall Street giants had jointly deposited 30 billion dollars, they lost over 70 billion dollars in the first quarter of this year alone. At the end of the first quarter, the deposit figure was only $104.5 billion, far below the $136.6 billion expected by analysts.

The first total and the bank lost 49.38% of its market value on Tuesday. In the news, the media reported that the bank was going to sell "50 billion to 100 billion dollars" of long-term assets to solve the mismatch problem. It is reported that Biden administration officials have been keeping in touch with Daikyo Bank in recent days, and the White House is increasingly worried that there is not much time left for Daikyo Bank to appease investors and depositors, but American policy makers are not worried that risks may spread further among banks.

It is worth noting that due to various indications that there are still many risk factors in the market, traders no longer bet 100% that the Fed will continue to raise interest rates before the middle of this year. According to the observation tool of the Federal Reserve, the probability of raising interest rates by 25 basis points in May fell to 81.5%, compared with 90.5% the previous day.

However, for technology stocks, the financial reports of Microsoft and Google have slightly eased some market concerns. AI and cloud services helped Microsoft’s financial report exceed expectations, with revenue of $52.9 billion, higher than analysts’ expectations of $51.03 billion; Earnings per share were $2.45, higher than analysts’ expectations of $2.24. More importantly, a strong profit guidance was released, which rose by 8% after hours.

Google’s parent company Alphabet’s revenue in the first quarter was $69.79 billion, higher than analysts’ expectations of $68.99 billion. Earnings per share was $1.17, higher than analysts’ expectations of $1.09. At the same time, it was announced that the board of directors authorized an additional repurchase of up to $70 billion. Google rose more than 4% after hours.

In addition, OpenAI plans to launch a new product, ChatGPT Business, which is the enterprise version in the next few months. At the same time, the new function of ChatGPT allows all users to turn off chat records, which will not be used to train and improve the model of OpenAI.

In terms of important macro news, according to Xinhua News Agency, US President and Democrat Biden officially announced his re-election as US President on the 25th. Biden released a video on the same day to officially announce his decision to run for re-election as president of the United States, and pointed his finger at the so-called Republican extremist forces, saying that the United States is still in the struggle of "fighting for the soul of the country" and he needs more time to "complete this work."

This means that next year, the world may once again witness the "peak confrontation" between Trump and Biden.

Biden officially announced his re-election as president of the United States.

According to Xinhua News Agency, U.S. President and Democrat Joe Biden officially announced his re-election campaign on the 25th. Biden released a video on the same day to officially announce his decision to run for re-election as president of the United States, and pointed his finger at the so-called Republican extremist forces, saying that the United States is still in the struggle of "fighting for the soul of the country" and he needs more time to "complete this work."

Biden is 80 years old. In the 2020 US presidential election, he defeated Trump, the then US president and Republican, and became the US president in January 2021.

Banking crisis worries have re-suppressed the market’s interest rate hike pricing for the Fed.

The interest rate swap contract of the Federal Reserve in June currently reflects that the benchmark interest rate of the central bank is only 20 basis points higher than the current effective federal funds rate, which implies that the possibility of raising interest rates in one of the next two FOMC meetings is about 80%, while it was almost certain that the Fed would raise interest rates in May.

The debt ceiling deadlock is hard to solve. The White House says Biden will veto the Republican bundled spending reduction plan.

The Republican proposal put forward by House Speaker McCarthy requires that the debt ceiling of $1.5 trillion be raised and the future total government expenditure be reduced by $4.5 trillion. On Tuesday, the White House said that the debt ceiling must be solved without any conditions. Also on Tuesday, US Treasury Secretary Yellen warned lawmakers that if the debt ceiling is not resolved, the economic achievements made in the past two years will be threatened.

New Governor of Bank of Japan: Tightening monetary policy now may lead to serious consequences.

Industry insiders predict that Ueda and Kazuo may choose "a cautious start" for their first monetary policy meeting this Friday, but they do not rule out the possibility of changes in June.

Argentina’s inflation exceeded 100% for the first time in 30 years.

As the inflation rate exceeded 100% for the first time in 30 years, and the record drought dealt a heavy blow to agriculture-related industries, Argentina’s economic activity remained stagnant in February, with GDP increasing by 0% month-on-month and only 0.2% year-on-year. But high inflation does not seem to cool down in a short time. Argentina’s central bank predicts that the country’s inflation rate will reach 110% in 2023.

Resist the impact of Microsoft AI, Google search returns to growth in the first quarter, and the cloud business turns losses into profits.

In the first quarter, Alphabet’s revenue and profit were better than expected. The year-on-year growth rate of revenue exceeded expectations and accelerated to 3%. EPS profit decreased by 4.9%, less than half of market expectations. Google’s advertising revenue fell by 0.2%, which was much lower than expected, and its search revenue changed from 3.6% in the fourth quarter to nearly 2%. YouTube advertising revenue fell less than expected; Google Cloud changed from an operating loss of more than $700 million a year ago to a profit of 190 million; The expenses related to layoffs and office space reduction in the first quarter were $2.6 billion. Alphabet announced that it plans to buy back up to $70 billion in shares.

AI and cloud services help Microsoft’s financial report exceed expectations.

After the close of trading on Tuesday, Microsoft announced its financial data for the third quarter. Among them, the revenue was 52.9 billion US dollars, which was higher than the analyst’s expectation of 51.03 billion US dollars; Earnings per share were $2.45, higher than analysts’ expectations of $2.24. In terms of main business, revenue from productivity and business services reached $17.5 billion, up 11% year-on-year; Intelligent cloud’s revenue was US$ 22.1 billion, up 16% year-on-year; Personal computer business revenue was $13.3 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 9%. After the financial report was released, Microsoft’s share price rose more than 8% after hours.

Microsoft CEO Nadella said in a statement that the company’s performance indicates the beginning of a "new era of computing", and the world’s most advanced artificial intelligence model is being combined with the world’s most common user interface-natural language.

OpenAI will launch a new paid product, ChatGPT Enterprise Edition, and add a new function to "appease" supervision.

OpenAI plans to launch a new product ChatGPTBusiness in the next few months, and introduce a new subscription group for ChatGPT to meet the needs of corporate customers. In addition, the new function of ChatGPT allows all users to close the chat record, which will not be used to train and improve the model of OpenAI; ChatGPT data can also be exported to users’ mailboxes.

UBS’s quarterly results were bleak, but after the $3.2 billion acquisition, it successfully "retained" $28 billion of Credit Suisse’s client funds.

UBS released a quarterly report that after the announcement of the acquisition of Credit Suisse, the wealth management department of UBS obtained a net increase of 28 billion US dollars, of which 7 billion US dollars flowed in in the last ten days of March alone. However, on the whole, UBS’s first-quarter report card is still disappointing: its total revenue decreased by 7% year-on-year to $8.74 billion, its net interest income decreased by 22% year-on-year to $1.39 billion, and its net profit decreased by 52% year-on-year to $1.03 billion, setting a record for the lowest quarterly profit in three years. All three results were lower than market expectations. UBS said that the acquisition of Credit Suisse in the second quarter will actively reduce the risk and resource consumption of Credit Suisse’s investment banking business.

After the "escape" of deposits, the first total and the bank brewed self-help and considered selling assets of up to 100 billion US dollars.

According to the media, First Total Bank may give warrants or preferred shares to potential buyers, including big American banks, to encourage them to buy assets of the bank above the market value; The bank tried to strengthen its balance sheet, avoid being taken over by the regulator FDIC, and clear the way for possible financing in the future.

Four Questions about Vaccination for the Elderly —— An investigation report from the front line of epidemic prevention and control

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 18th: Four Questions about Vaccination for the Elderly — — Investigation report from the front line of epidemic prevention and control

  Xinhua news agency reporter

90.37%, which is the proportion of people who have completed the whole vaccination of Covid-19 vaccine in China; 86.6% and 66.4%, respectively, are the proportion of people over 60 years old and over 80 years old who have completed the whole vaccination.

With the weakening of pathogenicity in Omicron, the popularization of vaccination and the accumulation of prevention and control experience, China’s epidemic prevention and control is facing a new situation and new task.

The comprehensive group of joint prevention and control mechanism in the State Council optimized the implementation of the "New Ten Articles" of epidemic prevention and control, and accelerated the Covid-19 vaccination for the elderly. The Central Economic Work Conference just held also proposed that we should optimize epidemic prevention and control measures according to the current situation, conscientiously implement various measures for epidemic prevention and control in the new stage, focus on the prevention and control of the elderly and groups suffering from basic diseases, and strive to maintain health and prevent severe diseases.

Why should we emphasize the necessity of vaccination for the elderly? Does vaccination work? Is vaccination safe? The reporter launched an investigation on the front line of epidemic prevention and control.

On December 15th, at the COVID-19 Vaccination Point in Zhongguancun Street, Haidian District, Beijing, medical staff vaccinated the elderly with COVID-19 vaccine. Xinhua News Agency reporter Ren Chaoshe

How necessary — — The defense line of the elderly group is relatively fragile.

Li Cuiwen, 78, lives in a remote village in the central province. Children are all in the city. On weekdays, they send rice flour oil, and the vegetables are grown in their own fields. They go to the town to catch a gathering once a month.

"I can’t see outsiders." Li Cuiwen and his wife have not been vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine so far. "Is everyone fighting, even if we don’t fight, we can’t infect us?"

Li Cuiwen is not the only one who has similar questions. In this regard, Xia Gang, director of the Department of Health and Immunity of the National Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention, said that there are quite a few disabled and semi-disabled people in China who live at home for a long time and rarely go out, but they may still be infected when they are accompanied by relatives or visited by relatives.

Compared with the previous strains in Covid-19, the pathogenicity of Omicron is weakening, but the infectivity is becoming stronger. The extremely fast transmission speed is multiplied by China’s huge population base. Even if the severe illness rate and mortality rate are already very low, the number of people at risk should not be underestimated.

During the epidemic in Shanghai from March to June this year, compared with those who were not vaccinated, the death risk of people over 60 years old who completed the booster immunization was reduced by 98.08%, and that of people over 80 years old who completed the booster immunization was reduced by 95.83%.

At the press conference of the State Council Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held recently, Xia Gang introduced that according to the research, if the elderly over 80 years old are not vaccinated with one dose of vaccine, the risk of death after being infected with Covid-19 is about 14.7%; If one dose of vaccine is inoculated, the risk of death will be reduced to 7.16%; If three doses of vaccine are inoculated, the risk of death will be reduced to 1.5%.

"I strongly call for accelerating the vaccination of vaccines, especially for vulnerable people such as the elderly." Zhong Nanshan, an academician of China Academy of Engineering, said.

On December 15th, two groups of communities were prepared in Kangmei Street, Liangjiang New District, Chongqing, and the medical staff of the community health service center checked the information of the elderly who had been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine. Xinhua News Agency reporter Huang Weishe

How effective is it — — Survey data show that the risk of severe illness can be greatly reduced.

In Chongqing, Zhang, an 84-year-old rehabilitation patient, told reporters that he suffered from many basic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. He completed the third dose of vaccination in July this year and was infected with Covid-19 in November. After treatment, his condition was effectively controlled and he has been discharged.

On December 16th, in the home of residents in Honghe Road Community, Zhongshan Road Street, Yongchuan District, Chongqing, the mobile vaccination team conducted pre-vaccination consultation and physical examination for the vaccinated elderly. Xinhua News Agency reporter Huang Weishe

"Studies at home and abroad confirm that vaccination has a good effect in preventing serious illness and death." Xia Gang said that after being infected with Covid-19, the elderly are more likely to develop into severe illness or even death, and Covid-19 vaccine will benefit the most.

At most, beijing ditan hospital has treated more than 100 COVID-19 patients over 80 years old. Chen Xiaoyou, vice president of the hospital, said that the vaccination rate of these elderly patients is generally low, and the incidence of severe illness after illness is relatively high, especially in COVID-19, which is aggravated by basic diseases.

COVID-19 Designated Treatment Hospital in Hefei — — Ding Zhen, director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Hefei Binhu Hospital, told the reporter: "For some elderly people with basic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, Covid-19 infection may aggravate the inflammatory reaction in the body, aggravate the condition of the basic diseases, and even lead to multiple organ failure."

Ding Zhen introduced that from the observation of their clinical treatment, the elderly who have been vaccinated are less likely to get worse and the time required for nucleic acid to turn negative is shorter.

In October, 2022, The Lancet Infectious Diseases published a research result based on the real-world vaccination population, which was released by the relevant research team of School of Public Health, Li Ka-shing Medical College, HKU. The study shows that the effective rate of preventing severe illness is about 70% for the elderly over 60 years old who are vaccinated with two injections of domestic inactivated vaccine, and the effective rate of preventing severe illness is over 95% after the third injection of intensive immunization.

On December 13th, in the Community Health Service Center of Baihedong Street, Liwan District, Guangzhou, medical staff made information entry and consultation for the elderly residents who came to receive COVID-19 vaccine. Xinhua News Agency reporter Deng Hua photo

Security geometry — — Make clear the taboo of vaccination and ensure safety to the greatest extent.

In the past few days, in Huanghuagang Street, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, the average number of elderly people who take the initiative to consult and make an appointment for vaccination has exceeded 300, which is significantly higher than usual.

Yu Shu and Ye Yi, who live in Nongben community, had concerns about vaccination because of their basic diseases. After many door-to-door publicity by community workers and volunteers, Ye Yi was vaccinated under the health monitoring of doctors, and there were no adverse reactions. The next day, Uncle Yu also completed the vaccination. "Now I know that the previous concerns are redundant."

On December 12th, in Guanggang New Town, Liwan District, Guangzhou, elderly residents got off the convenient vaccination vehicle after receiving COVID-19 vaccine. Xinhua News Agency reporter Deng Hua photo

The reporter found in many places that the enthusiasm of the elderly for vaccination has improved significantly recently, but some elderly people are still worried about the safety of vaccines. Many elderly people admitted to reporters that they were mainly worried that "they are old and have basic diseases, which will bring adverse reactions after vaccination".

"Chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension are not absolute taboos for vaccination in Covid-19. As long as these chronic diseases are well controlled and in a stable period, Covid-19 vaccine can be vaccinated." Zheng Zhongwei, director of the Science and Technology Development Center of the National Health and Wellness Commission and head of the working group of the vaccine research and development special class of the the State Council Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism, said.

According to the situation of vaccine research and development and the practice of vaccination, the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council has defined the vaccination taboos of the elderly in the Work Plan for Strengthening Covid-19 Vaccination for the Elderly, including four types of situations in which vaccination cannot be carried out or postponed. At the same time, local health departments should implement the "four haves" requirement that vaccination units should have emergency personnel stationed in general hospitals with level 2 or above, emergency equipment and medicines, 120 ambulances on duty, and green channels for treatment in general hospitals with level 2 or above to ensure vaccination safety.

Step by step to carry out training on judging vaccination contraindications, and guide medical staff to scientifically judge vaccination contraindications; Well-known doctors from various specialties were transferred to form a vaccination consultation expert group to patiently answer various consultation questions … … Many places are refining the work of answering questions and doubts to eliminate the doubts of vaccination for the elderly to the greatest extent.

How convenient is it — — The "last 100 meters" is constantly getting through.

Every Tuesday and Saturday afternoon, it is the day when the "Medical Qingqi Team" comes to the door for vaccination in Pingguoyuan Street, Shijingshan District, Beijing. The "Medical Qingqi Team" consists of 5 to 6 street, community workers and medical staff, and is divided into two groups, each group can enter about 12 households.

"Conduct a health assessment first, ask the elderly whether they have basic diseases, look at past medical history, etc., and confirm whether the elderly are suitable for vaccination." Luo Yan, one of the medical staff of the "Medical Qingqi Team" and the medical department of Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, said, "After the assessment, we will further communicate with our family members, and after the family members agree, they will sign an informed consent form and vaccinate."

Similar situations have appeared in many places recently. A special session of Covid-19 vaccination was held in Jinbi Yayuan Community, Baiyun District, Guangzhou. 63-year-old Ms. Liu suffers from rheumatoid arthritis. The medical staff inquired about her physical indicators in detail. After assessing that she met the vaccination requirements, she was instructed to take the third shot of vaccine.

On December 10th, He Lingling (left), a nurse from Fangmiao Street Community Health Service Center, vaccinated the elderly in the community with COVID-19 vaccine at COVID-19 vaccination site in Yaohai District, Hefei. Xinhua News Agency reporter Guo Chenshe

Li Zizhen, director of the immunization room of the Community Health Service Center of Dongcheng Sub-district Office in jieshou city, Anhui Province, told the reporter that twenty or thirty elderly people have come to get Covid-19 vaccine every day recently, and the telephone number for consultation is also from morning till night. A mobile door-to-door vaccination service team was set up in the local area, equipped with first-aid equipment and medicines, and came to the door at any time.

Set up green channels for the elderly, temporary inoculation points and mobile inoculation vehicles; Medical staff with rich experience in diagnosis, treatment and vaccination are selected to form vaccination teams, carrying common equipment and medicines needed during post-vaccination observation, and providing home vaccination services for disabled and semi-disabled elderly people … … Many places are optimizing various convenience measures as required, and getting through the "last 100 meters" for the elderly.

For the country’s 267 million elderly people over the age of 60, every 1 percentage point increase in vaccination rate means that more than 2 million people have built a barrier against serious illness and death. "The Spring Festival is coming, and now vaccination usually takes half a month to be effective, which is of great benefit to prevent large-scale spread when people go home and a large number of people migrate during the Spring Festival in Spring Festival travel rush." Zhong Nanshan said.

12 questions about COVID-19 vaccine, look at the answers.

On the afternoon of March 28th, the State Council Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held a press conference to introduce the vaccination and supply guarantee in COVID-19. As of March 27th, 2021, 102.417 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been reported in various places.

About COVID-19 vaccine, the conference also introduced these latest news.

1. What should I do if I am not sure if I am suitable for vaccination?

If it really belongs to the vaccination taboo, it is impossible to provide vaccination services. If it is listed in the vaccination items, it is recommended to tell the vaccination doctor truthfully before vaccination. So that doctors can fully evaluate and determine whether it is suitable for vaccination.

2. How long is the vaccine protection period?

COVID-19 vaccine is a new vaccine. According to the antibody level, it will be monitored for more than six months. But we also know that antibody is not the only protective indicator, and there are other factors in the process of vaccine’s function. Therefore, we should do relevant research on the persistence of the vaccine to confirm how long its protection period is.

3. I have been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine. Do I need to be vaccinated again?

According to Zhongsheng of Sinopharm, during the whole clinical research, it is now observed that the persistence of vaccine protection is about half a year, and the persistence of neutralizing antibodies is also about half a year. In the clinical process of the overall design, the booster needle was designed to observe the persistence and protection level of antibodies. At present, the preliminary results show that booster needle can effectively improve the titer of neutralizing antibodies, effectively improve the persistence of antibodies, and also effectively improve the anti-mutation ability of vaccines.

In the future, phase III clinical research will be carried out overseas to continuously observe the persistence of antibodies and protection. Is it necessary to carry out booster vaccination? When will you call? Still have to answer according to the results of the next three clinical studies.

4. What is the preventive effect of COVID-19 vaccine?

The vaccine itself can prevent infection, morbidity, severe illness and death. Now, the effectiveness result we get is the result of our clinical experiment. With the application of the vaccine, we will also carry out related research on its protective effect after marketing.

5. How to ensure the supply of vaccines in COVID-19?

On the one hand, actively and steadily expand the vaccination service capacity, optimize the vaccine distribution process, and improve the efficiency of circulation and operation. To scientifically arrange the turnover quantity of vaccines, the requirement is not to overstock the inventory, and to increase the number of inoculation points and inoculation stations in various ways to meet the vaccination needs of the masses. On the other hand, it is necessary to strengthen the linkage between departments and coordinate the industrial and information departments to strengthen the supply guarantee of vaccines.

6. After the first injection, how long is the best time to inject the second injection?

After the first dose of vaccination, the interval between the second dose of vaccination should be greater than or equal to three weeks, and the second dose of vaccination should be completed as soon as possible within 8 weeks after the first dose of vaccine.

7. If you catch up with a business trip or go out, can you get a second shot in a different place?

According to the guidelines, it is recommended to use the varieties of the same enterprise as much as possible to complete two doses of vaccination. If the same variety is not available in different places, then other vaccine products of the same kind can be replaced to complete two doses of vaccination.

Effective period

8. If I miss the second dose of vaccination for some reason, how can I make it up?

For those who have not completed 2 or 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine according to the procedure, it is suggested to replant as soon as possible. There is no need to restart the immunization program, just replant and complete the corresponding dose.

9. Some vaccine developers have been vaccinated in February and March last year. What are the antibodies in these people?

Some people, as the vanguard of vaccines, have been vaccinated with inactivated vaccines in COVID-19. We are constantly monitoring the change data of antibodies in their bodies. At present, we have obtained the antibody monitoring data for 9 months. Judging from the current data, the antibodies in 9 months still have a certain level. We will continue to strengthen monitoring in the future.

10. Will foreign virus variation affect the effectiveness of existing vaccines?

Vaccine research and development units and production units pay great attention to dealing with the variation problem. Two inactivated vaccines of Sinopharm Group China Bio, using the serum after the second and third clinical trials at home and abroad, have carried out cross-comprehensive experiments on the strains found in South Africa and Britain, as well as more than 10 strains found in different regions and epidemic areas in China. The results show that neutralizing antibodies produced by the two inactivated vaccines have a good neutralizing effect on these strains. Small variation of the virus will not affect the antigenicity of the vaccine, that is, the vaccine will be effective without variation of protective antigen, especially the whole virus inactivated vaccine.

11. How to advance the national plan for vaccination of the elderly?

At present, Beijing, Shanghai and other regions have been vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine for some elderly people over 60 years old and patients with chronic diseases who are willing to be vaccinated and in good physical condition under the premise of fully evaluating the health status and infection risk of the vaccinated objects. In the next step, we will actively and steadily promote the vaccination of people over 60 years old and patients with chronic diseases in combination with the use effect of vaccines in large-scale populations.

12. When will people under the age of 18 be vaccinated?

Last year, the phase I/II clinical research conducted by China Bio in Henan covered the systematic, safe and immunogenic clinical research of the young age group of 3-17 years old. At present, the safety data of this age group have been completely obtained, and the expected results have been achieved. The detection of immunogenicity and neutralizing antibodies has also been completed. We will communicate with the Food and Drug Administration in the near future, and I believe that this group of people can be covered in the near future.

Domestic down jacket sold for 7000 yuan? The supplier gives the truth behind the "high price"

Recently, the report that "domestic down jacket sold for 7000 yuan" attracted attention. As a clothing manufacturer and trader, Meng Zhuo is puzzled by this.

"Some high-priced situations are marked, and there are often discounts when actually selling." Meng Zhuo opened the e-commerce platform on his mobile phone and said, "You see that some of them have a price tag of 2,000 yuan, and after the discount, it will be 129 yuan."

In his long-term experience, the price of conventional down jackets has not risen for many years, and even showed a downward trend in the price war of involution. The prediction of this year’s warm winter also made the down jacket not rebound obviously when the consumption recovery was not as good as expected.

To this end, the first financial reporter conducted an investigation and interview, and the suppliers of winter clothes told the truth: the price tag is not the actual price, and the high price is not the price increase.

There is no price increase for the regular basic model.

Pu Xiaojuan, deputy general manager of Suzhou Fannuo Textile Co., Ltd., has the same feelings as Meng Zhuo. "The cheap down jacket brand, the overall pricing this year is similar to last year." She told CBN that the sales of most brands in various time periods are discounted, and in the end, they must cater to the psychology of the market. The general actual price cannot be ridiculously high.

Suzhou Fannuo Textile Co., Ltd. mainly supplies fabrics for high-end down jacket brands. Pu Xiaojuan said that in terms of fabrics, the price of conventional fabrics has not risen, which is basically the same as last year. The affordable e-commerce and lightweight down jackets corresponding to these conventional fabrics sold well in previous years, but this year they only lasted for a week and ended. The total amount is not as good as in previous years, and there is naturally no motivation for price increases.

"The price of down jackets sold domestically is basically more than five times the actual price. Some e-commerce platforms are even cheaper. " Meng Zhuo said that in proportion, light down jackets have accounted for the majority of sales in recent years, and they are also one of the most commonly bought winter clothes by ordinary consumers. The price of this kind of clothing has never risen in the context of rising global prices.

Wu Dongming, the person in charge of Hengxin Weaving Co., Ltd. told CBN that the price of the basic down jacket fabric has not changed. "It basically can’t go up, even if it has gone up slightly recently, it may only make the enterprise lose a little."

The person in charge of Jiangsu Tianwei Textile also admitted that from the overall supply, the market demand this year is lower than expected. In terms of price, "basically, it can’t go up unless new products and old products are reduced in price."

Taking into account the shelf life of the market, Meng Zhuo said that for manufacturing factories, the export orders for down jackets have been delivered this winter, and overseas sales are coming to an end in November, as is the case in China. "After New Year’s Day, there are basically few people who buy them … … Needless to say, the factory for domestic sales has basically slowed down at present, mainly supplying small-scale replenishment orders.

That is to say, on the one hand, the tag price is not the actual price, on the other hand, the high price on the market today is only some high-end or differentiated products, which does not correspond to the "general increase" of the industry — — A large number of conventional affordable clothing and even raw materials have not seen price increases.

Hu Kehua, deputy director of the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile and Apparel Council, told CBN that the overall global economy was tired, and even though the China market was stable as a whole, there was no obvious improvement in terms of the prices of fabrics and clothing. Recently, the lower-priced down jackets have ushered in some sales due to the approaching cold wave, which has led to certain price increase expectations at the end of down and other materials.

  Supply chain behind high price

"Last year, the same thing sold more expensive this year, but this year’s things are different from many before. (The pricing of different products is different) is not called price increase." Zhou Jianchun, general manager of Wujiang Shengwei Bauhinia Textile Co., Ltd. told CBN. Zhou Jianchun, who is also a fabric supplier of down jackets, thinks that the word "material" can describe their products more accurately than fabric. Because the material of down jacket now goes beyond the scope of traditional fabrics, it emphasizes more and more the sense of science and technology and new functions, and also incorporates materials such as nano-breathable film, volcanic materials and parachutes.

Wu Dongming also mentioned that there is no change in the basic model, and the price is increased by the deep-processed materials. "The fabrics used in winter clothes such as down jackets this year are completely different."

Pu Xiaojuan said that this year’s hot-selling and high-priced down jackets are mainly those with certain scientific and technological content and partial functionality. This is also the differentiation strategy pursued by brands in recent years in order to seize the mid-to high-end market. Correspondingly, it is the change of consumer demand — — From the original emphasis on warmth and appearance style, it has become more and more functional and scientific, and is willing to pay for it.

Zhou Jianchun also said that consumers’ demand for clothing has changed obviously, and the pursuit of technology and functionality of a garment has become a new fashion trend. "This year, the fabrics of the technology series and the corresponding down jackets sell particularly well."

"In the past few years, the prices of some conventional down jackets went down, and the involution was seriously playing a price war. However, the prices of down jackets of some brands have been raised all the time, and it is true that things have been done better. " Zhou Jianchun thinks that 70% of the differentiated competition of brands comes from the difference of fabrics, and "more functional and technological fabrics are needed to meet the needs of the consumer market". More functional needs to be realized by science and technology. For example, some down jacket materials can not only prevent wind, store heat and keep warm, but also prevent dirt and oil. When the materials originally used in parachutes are used in clothing, the strength can be improved by more than 1.5 times compared with the traditional ones. A nano-scale film can let water vapor out, but liquid water can’t enter, and at the same time, it has the functions of perspiration, ventilation and waterproof.

In addition to functionality and technology, under the global trend of low carbon, high-priced down jackets and fabrics usually need low-carbon environmental protection and renewable elements. These are directly reflected in the product structure, order volume and profit rate of the supply chain.

"We started this year, and the conventional lining materials are all renewable materials." Pu Xiaojuan said that today’s materials must have their own characteristics, and they cannot follow the crowd. Those traditional homogeneous materials are highly competitive and have little profit. To this end, since 2019, they have given up their original customers and conventional products, added independent R&D and sample management teams, changed the passive mode of doing development with business, and actively transformed into renewable and technological fabrics. After several years of running-in, they have also gained a doubling of the order amount in these two years. "This year’s orders are expected to increase by 1.75 times, and last year’s increased by 1.2 times." Prior to this, the annual orders were almost flat.

Traditional fabrics are declining instead of increasing, but for Pu Xiaojuan, the price of their new materials is more than 30% higher than that of conventional fabrics, which is a rise in volume and price. "Some friends’ enterprises also achieved the performance of last year in August this year."

Pu Xiaojuan revealed that they have a vest heating lining jointly developed, and one meter of cloth can be used on several down jackets. The recent orders have been added. "The original order should have ended in October, and now the scale of replenishment has doubled. A domestic brand of this down jacket may have sold more than 1 million pieces. "

Zhou Jianchun said that the company’s overall sales this year were the same as last year, but the sales increased by more than 30%. "The price of some (new) fabrics is 2-3 times that of the conventional ones".

Jiangnan, head of Romulan Group Outdoor New Materials Co., Ltd., told CBN that since 85% of the company’s orders are mainly for export, this year is inevitably affected by geopolitical and weak market factors. "Originally (this year’s sales) were expected to increase by 20% this year, but the actual forecast is only 8%." However, this growth is in the case of constant quantity, which also means that the price has been significantly improved because of the innovative transformation of outdoor fabrics and the introduction of new products.

Not only the high-end functional down jackets, but also the changes in the market and supply chain have made outdoor-related jackets sell better this year. "Many listed textile companies may not meet the overall performance standards, but the related sales of jackets are good". However, Jiangnan believes that, like down jackets with functions such as coping with extreme cold, this kind of clothing is a product with a small customer base in scale, and it is also a high-end subdivision that is less affected by the transfer of traditional textile and clothing production capacity.

Whether it is clothing or material manufacturing, another motivation to support high prices lies in branding. As enterprises in China pay more and more attention to brand building, the polarization of the consumer market will become more and more obvious.

"Now more and more brands and garment manufacturers are using the design concept of Chinese and foreign integration, and at the same time, they are more and more concerned about the brand effect, which will be expensive." Jiangnan feels that, more accurately, brands have brought about an increase in the added value of products, and there will be two extremes in the future — — Cheaper and more expensive.

Zhou Jianchun said that, like clothing brands, the development and transformation of fabric enterprises also need brand building, and in recent years, with the brand transformation of local industrial chain and the introduction of designers, they have also achieved certain brand effects, which is one of the reasons for raising prices. "Some similar fabrics can be sold a little more expensive than their peers."

In terms of design and style, Wu Dongming said that Chinese style elements have also become popular recently.

Regarding industrial transfer, Jiangnan pointed out that compared with Southeast Asia, China’s manufacturing industry still has certain advantages. First, the demographic dividend is not as good as before, but it still exists. Secondly, the completeness of China’s industrial chain is the most important reason, especially the functional fabric and clothing innovation, which takes time and experience to accumulate. Thirdly, China has a vast domestic market. Even if the export uncertainty increases, it can find a greater balance in the two-legged walk of domestic and foreign trade. Therefore, in addition to adapting to changes in market demand and brand transformation, they will also make a more rational global layout.

Days and Nights in Wuhan shocked the audience by showing the story of the heroic city war epidemic in Han Dynasty.

Original title: The anti-epidemic documentary film Days and Nights in Wuhan shocked the audience by showing the heroic city war epidemic story in Han Dynasty.

Record life with life, and create a heroic hymn of ordinary people. The first domestic anti-epidemic documentary film co-produced by the Propaganda Department of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Film Channel and Hubei Radio and Television Station held a special screening ceremony for Hubei media at Kaide 1818 Lumiere Cinema in Wuchang on the afternoon of 16th. During the epidemic in COVID-19 at the beginning of last year, the photojournalist of Changjiang Daily was always on the front line of anti-epidemic, and his work was selected as the material for the anti-epidemic documentary film Days and Nights in Wuhan. More than a dozen Hubei media reporters, representatives of some hospitals and communities in Wuhan, and some filming teams that provided materials for Days and Nights in Wuhan watched the film.

Not a voice-over, not a line.

Sun Tzu recited Tang poems to cheer up his grandfather in the intensive care unit; The husband cried in front of the camera, saying that his wife wanted to live and made delicious food and sent it to the hospital. Medical couples in Jinyintan Hospital spend the night in the car outside the hospital to avoid infecting their families … …

There is no popular actor and no designed acting skills. Every character and story in Days and Nights in Wuhan comes from the real record at the peak of Wuhan epidemic last year. The film was shot by more than 30 photographers in several hospitals, and many shots went deep into the intensive care unit. The audience could see scenes that they could not see at ordinary times: medical staff feeding patients, changing medicine, turning over and scrubbing their bodies, including surgery and rescue.

The camera was also aimed at the patients’ families and volunteers outside the hospital. They also fought to win time for the patients’ recovery and the smooth delivery of pregnant women. These pictures have no processing or rendering, and truly show the real picture of people fighting the epidemic in a city.

The most touching picture in the film is that just after a patient was sent away, a little life came into this world crying. This is the alternation of death and life, which is the continuation of life hope. The birth of a little life also smeared a bunch of bright colors for the world.

Dozens of times in the film, the images of Wuhan city were inserted, from the initial dark clouds, to the bright lights in the three towns during the joint fight against the epidemic, to the turning of Wuhan into safety when cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Raindrops from the Yellow Crane Tower, lonely cyclists on the Yangtze River Bridge, birds on the branches of hospitals, and the streets and alleys in Wuhan seemed to all talk, telling that our city was in a critical moment, we were United as one, we were fighting, and we would surely defeat the virus.

More than 1000 hours of precious materials, 30 first-line photographers of war and epidemic, recorded their lives with their lives, and created heroic hymns of ordinary people. The film didn’t use a voice-over or write a line. Everything is extremely real, and it conveys more love and warmth, which is to cherish our hard-won happy life now.

"Delicate restraint, gentle telling", "plain with the power to hit people’s hearts", "the lens language is full of beauty" and "the real record is better than the top performance" … … Many people expressed such admiration after watching it.

The medical staff looked down with tears all the time.

"The whole process was seen with tears. The camera language brought me to that moment last year, when my colleagues and I joined hands to die. Seeing the medical staff in the movie, I also saw my colleagues and I were there. "

After the screening, Chen Sheng, a doctor’s representative from Wuhan No.7 Hospital, said that the most impressive scene was the baby’s first cry in the morning, which suddenly pulled his heart up. At that time, his tears could not stop flowing downwards, because it represented new life and hope.

Chen Sheng’s colleague, Dr. Chen Huifang, said that she also watched it with tears in her eyes. This film brought her back to the difficult period of fighting the encounter. She saw the figure of her colleague and the story of the heroic Wuhan people. What moved her in particular was to see an old man in the film who remained optimistic, strong and humorous after more than ten days of treatment, and the scene of the birth of a newborn. The tenacity of life made her shed tears.

Yao Shanglong, the chief physician from Wuhan Union Medical College Hospital, is not only an anti-epidemic fighter, but also a person who recovered from COVID-19 infection. After watching Days and Nights in Wuhan, Yao Shanglong said with emotion that he spent more than 30 days and nights in the ward a year ago. He saw not only doctors but also patients. He experienced volunteers driving him home and community staff serving him, which fully demonstrated that Wuhan is a heroic city. This epidemic is ruthless, but there is love in the world, which fully embodies the spirit of great love of Wuhan people. It will be difficult for everyone in 2020, and everyone will be great.

What the film gives him is objective, real and touching, with life and death in it, but it gives people positive energy, the optimism of our medical staff and our patients, and the support of our family and all walks of life. During his stay in hospital, it was these that made Yao Shanglong finally overcome his illness.

The film Days and Nights in Wuhan uses a lot of video materials from Tan Haiyan’s team of Hubei Radio and Television Station. After watching the screening, Tan Haiyan and photographers Wu Qin and Wang Wei were interviewed. Tan Haiyan said that this is the fourth time she has watched a film. What is different this time is that she watched it in the cinema for the first time. The fourth time I saw her, I still shed tears. The scene that made her cry was that the film changed from the first act to the second act, which was the empty mirror of Wuhan city. It’s so beautiful. She knows that it’s not easy for all the heroes of Wuhan people to be behind this beauty. It’s only after 76 days of fighting that we got such a beautiful night scene. (Reporter: Wan Jianhui)

Comb! Five misunderstandings of influenza entering high incidence period

CCTV News:At present, the flu season has entered, and the level of flu activity has been on the rise recently. However, everyone has some misunderstandings about the flu. Let’s sort it out.

Myth 1: This year’s flu is more serious than in previous years.

Every winter and spring is the high incidence of influenza. According to the monitoring data released by China CDC, the overall activity level of influenza in China is lower than that in the same period of last year, and will show a downward trend from the end of this month.

Song Tie, Deputy Director of Guangdong CDC.: "It is mainly influenza A (H1N1) virus. There are many outbreaks in primary schools this year, but at present, with the school holidays, this outbreak will gradually decrease."

Myth 2: This year’s influenza virus variants are easy to cause complications.

In the past two days, many parents have been fidgeting because of the news that "the flu virus turned to attack children’s brains this year". Does this year’s influenza virus mutate, and is it easy to cause complications? China CDC said that at present, no variation of influenza virus has been found in various places.

Whether you will get complications after suffering from the flu depends on the patient’s own resistance and the power of the virus. Generally speaking, influenza may cause pneumonia, myocarditis, or central nervous system diseases including encephalitis. This is not a new situation this year, so there is no need for excessive panic. However, these five groups of people should pay special attention. They are more likely to get flu complications than ordinary people and belong to high-risk groups.

  1. Children under 5 years old

  2. Older people over 65 years old

  3. Patients with chronic diseases and immune diseases

  4. Obese people

  5. Pregnant women

Myth 3: Strong people don’t have to be afraid of the flu.

Doctors said that people who are strong and have strong resistance should not think that their chances of getting the flu are low, so they don’t pay attention to rest and prevention, so that the virus also has the opportunity to take advantage of it, such as fatigue, hunger, or soaking clothes after sweating a lot. Among influenza complications, the incidence of myocarditis is higher in healthy young adults. This is because these people are more immune, and when they are invaded by the virus, their own defense system will also damage myocardial cells while removing the virus.

Myth 4: Influenza is treated as a common cold.

The doctor said that the symptoms of the common cold are mild, and most of them are respiratory symptoms such as sore throat, cough and stuffy nose, while the flu is accompanied by high fever above 38℃, chills, dizziness and headache, muscle aches, etc., and it is highly contagious. Once you have cold symptoms, you should go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis, and prescribe the right medicine. At present, antiviral drugs for influenza are prescription drugs, which must be taken under the guidance of a doctor. Antibiotics have no effect on influenza.

Myth 5: relying on "remedies" such as vinegar fumigation to prevent influenza

In order to prevent the flu, some people smoke vinegar at home. The doctor said that acetic acid can only kill bacteria when it reaches a certain concentration. Moreover, the flu virus is not a bacterium, and it cannot be killed by acetic acid at all. Blind vinegar fumigation will also aggravate the condition of patients with bronchitis and emphysema.

Others rely on oral vitamin C to prevent influenza. Doctors say that taking enough fruits and vegetables has the same effect as oral vitamin C, which can improve immunity, but it has no antiviral effect. According to the method of drinking Radix Isatidis and other traditional Chinese medicines to prevent influenza, the doctor said that Radix Isatidis is cool and not beneficial to all patients.

Yang Shuyu, President of Xiamen Medical Association, Fujian: "When a cold is prevalent, it is very important to pay attention to improving your immunity, instead of blindly taking drugs, which will affect and damage your immunity."

After 11 years of plastic limit, the use of plastic bags in Xi’ an is still very large, and the farmers’ market says that there is no substitute.

Today is World Environment Day.

World theme:Defend the blue sky, I am an actor.

China theme:Beautiful China, I am an actor.

Shaanxi theme:Beautiful Sanqin, national action

June 5th is World Environment Day.

On June 5, 1972, the United Nations held the first conference on human environment in Stockholm, Sweden, and adopted the famous Declaration on Human Environment and the Action Plan to protect the global environment. The 1,300 delegates from 113 countries and regions attending the conference suggested that the opening day of the conference be "World Environment Day".

On June 5th every year, the United Nations Environment Programme selects a member country to hold the commemoration of "World Environment Day", publishes the Annual Report on the Status of the Environment and commends the "Top 500 in the World", and formulates the theme of "World Environment Day" according to the world’s major environmental problems and environmental hotspots of that year.

In 2019, World Environment Day will be hosted by China, and its home event will be held in Hangzhou. On June 5th, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the United Nations Environment Programme will jointly host the World Environment Day Global Home Event in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

In order to protect the ecological environment, in 2008, China began to implement the "Plastic Restriction Order". For 11 years, what about the use of plastic bags in Xi ‘an? Yesterday (June 4th), the reporter from Huashang Daily visited several supermarkets and farmers’ markets in Xi ‘an and found that there were still a large number of plastic bags in use.

A number of supermarkets and farmers’ markets in Xi ‘an still have a large number of plastic bags in use. Vision china data map

Phenomenon: Old people often bring their own cloth bags.

On December 31st, 2007, the General Office of the State Council issued a notice on restricting the production, sale and use of plastic shopping bags, which was called "plastic restriction order" by the masses. The "Plastic Restriction Order" stipulates: "From June 1, 2008, the production, sale and use of plastic shopping bags with a thickness of less than 0.025mm are prohibited nationwide". Since June 1, 2008, the system of paid use of plastic shopping bags has been implemented in all supermarkets, shopping malls, bazaars and other retail places, and plastic shopping bags are not allowed to be provided free of charge.

Yesterday morning, the reporter saw in Yonghui Supermarket near Park South Road in Xi ‘an that there was a lot of people flowing. In the vegetable area, fruit area and grain area, there were free pre-packaged bags. Most customers used a separate bag for every purchase. An old lady who is choosing dishes has a cloth bag hanging on her shoulder. "This is my special cloth bag for buying vegetables. The shopping bag that can be carried in the supermarket is charged. I have this to save money and protect the environment." The old lady said, "My cloth bag will be washed once in a few days, and it is very clean to use."

The reporter of Huashang Daily noticed that many elderly people in supermarkets are carrying cloth bags or other reusable bags.

Supermarket: Free prepackaged bags are used in large quantities.

Mr. Lu, a staff member in the vegetable area of the supermarket, said: "Free prepackaged bags can use 2-3 rolls per day on average, with about 1,000 bags per roll. Compared with the plastic bags charged at the checkout counter, these free bags are used more."

Customer service supervisor Mao Dandan has worked in this supermarket for 10 years. "Shopping bags used at the checkout are all charged, small two hairs and big three hairs. Under normal circumstances, the number of shopping bags charged per month can be 20,000-30,000. In the peak period of the Chinese New Year holiday, the number of shopping bags charged per month can be 40,000-50,000. "

Mao Dandan said: "Overall, compared with before 2008, the use of plastic bags has declined, but it is difficult to eliminate it. Young people think that buying a plastic bag is not much money, and they can use it as garbage bags when they go home."

Yesterday morning, the reporter from Huashang Daily came to CR Vanguard Supermarket near Xiying Road. A staff member in the vegetable area and fruit area said: "You can use 6 rolls of prepackaged bags every day, with about 500 bags per roll." A staff member of the customer service department said: "Shopping plastic bags cost 2 cents for small bags and 3 cents for large bags. On average, you can use 10 boxes per week, with 1,000 boxes per box. The free pre-packaged bags in the supermarket are provided by suppliers, and we have not made statistics. " During the visit, the reporter found that the supermarket also sells reusable shopping bags, ranging from a few yuan to a dozen yuan. "Not many people buy it." A cashier said.

Farmers’ market: no plastic bag substitute can be found.

Yesterday afternoon, the reporter came to Xin Zhuque Agricultural Trade Wholesale Market in Xi ‘an, and saw many colorful plastic bags hanging on the stalls, and some customers carried many plastic bags of different colors in their hands.

A female boss of a booth said: "When business is good, we can use about 10 plastic bags every day, 50 for each, and 5.5 for each. We spend 55 yuan on plastic bags every day and get 1650 yuan a month."

"You see, there are big and small bags in my house, a small bag with 3 pieces of 5, a big bag with 6 pieces of 5, and 7 pieces of 8 pieces. Almost 15 small bags can be used every day, and 5 large bags can be used every day, each of which is about 50, and about 750 small bags are needed every day. " The female boss of another booth said, "When customers buy a dish, they will use a bag alone."

Mr. Wang, deputy director of the market management office, said: "The market has been in operation for five years and there are three or four hundred merchants. These plastic bags are non-degradable, and we don’t want to, but we can’t find a substitute. Judging from the products currently on the market, plastic bags are low in cost and convenient to use, and everyone still has no other choice. "

Environmental experts: the government, enterprises and citizens need to work together.

Deng Shunxi, a professor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Chang ‘an University, said: "Plastic bags are mostly polyethylene, which cannot be degraded after being buried underground for hundreds of years. After burning, there are not only residues, but also harmful gases that pollute the environment."

"The plastic bag itself is not good, because the use cost is very low and it is very convenient. The most effective solution is to solve it from the source and develop and produce environmentally friendly and replaceable packaging bags." Deng Shunxi said that paper bags are not the best substitute. Plastic shopping bags are low in price, light, transparent, strong, waterproof, oil-proof and corrosion-resistant. "If paper packaging is used instead of plastic packaging, in order to achieve the performance of plastic bags, it is necessary to add plastics, aluminum foil and other substances to the paper, which will not only increase the cost, but also cause difficulties in recycling."

Deng Shunxi said that at present, the cost of making more environmentally friendly packaging bags will increase, but it still needs the joint efforts of the government, packaging bag manufacturers and citizens to develop and produce packaging bags with high cost performance and degradable pollution-free. On the other hand, citizens’ awareness of environmental protection needs to be enhanced, and reusable reusable shopping bags should be used as much as possible.

After eating damp and moldy millet, scientists found that male animals turned into mothers in succession.

Originality brings science home.

Seven kings of writing articles

Nowadays, more and more children’s puberty is ahead of their parents. What is the reason?

In addition to overnutrition, many studies now point to environmental endocrine disruptors, such as bisphenol A(BPA) in plastics, which can interfere with the endocrine system of humans and animals. But today we are going to introduce a stronger food-like hormone, which is widely found in grains, milk and other foods.

The name of this kind of hormone from food is Buddhist, but what it does is very coquettish. It is ZEN.

ZEN is a toxin synthesized by Fusarium fungi, and these fungi like grains best, so ZEN is widely distributed in moldy corn, sorghum, wheat and other grains, and is one of the most widely distributed mycotoxins in the world.

Fusarium, a common fungus that pollutes grains. Image source: wikipedia

In 2000, a report by the Joint FAO-WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) named Safety Evaluation of Certain Food Additives and Containant pointed out that 30-40% of the world’s grain was polluted by ZEN, and the pollution situation in developing countries was more serious than that in developed countries.

Many studies have detected high concentrations of ZEN in local grains. Regina Schoental, a pathologist at the University of London, pointed out that in the wet harvest season, the ZEN content of barley and corn in the barn can exceed 100,000 ppb (100,000 parts per billion), which is 1,000 times higher than the upper limit of ZEN content of cereals set by the European Union for direct human consumption.

So, what impact will ZEN have on animals?

ZEN is similar to the animal estrogen estradiol in structure, so it is also called F-2 estrous toxin. Yes, you are right. ZEN’s effect means literally.

The estrogenic effect of ZEN was first discovered by American scientists in 1926. Many people know that soy products also contain phytoestrogens, but ZEN is much more powerful than them. At that time, after eating corn contaminated by ZEN because of moisture, pigs became sick-their reproductive organs and behaviors were abnormal.

What anomaly?

Because the function of ZEN is similar to estrogen, the bad things it does on livestock include but are not limited to: estrus cycle disorder, premature estrus, abortion and stillbirth, false pregnancy infertility, low pregnancy rate and so on. Animal studies have found that most animals will be adversely affected by ZEN, such as pigs, cows, sheep and rabbits.

For example, after eating the feed contaminated by ZEN, the newly weaned sow will have estrus symptoms, such as redness and swelling of the hindquarters.

After the boar ingests ZEN, it will also become feminized, such as the chest becomes bigger, the balls shrink, the number of sperm decreases, and abnormal sperm is produced. ZEN has a similar effect on cattle and sheep. If the bull before puberty is injected with 36 mg of ZEN, the circumference of the balls will become smaller, the genitals will degenerate and the semen quality will become worse.

Even more frightening is that only a low dose of ZEN (as low as 1ppm) can cause damage to the reproductive system of pigs.

Because of the losses caused by ZEN to animal husbandry, ZEN is often called the second invisible killer in pig industry after aflatoxin.

So, will human beings be influenced by ZEN?

ZEN can be quickly absorbed by the body through oral administration or even through the skin. After entering the human body, it likes to stick to tissues affected by estrogen, such as uterus and leydig cells of testis.

For children who have not yet entered puberty, because their natural estrogen level is very low, they are easily influenced by estrogen in the environment, thus being induced into precocious puberty and making their breasts develop rapidly.

In November, 1977, a school in Milan, Italy, showed that the breasts of girls and boys became bigger. Researchers at the University of Milan then studied more than 200 boys aged 3-14 and more than 100 girls aged 3-7. In 1979, they published this research in The Lancet.

These researchers found that the breasts of children of all ages in this school are bigger than their peers in other schools, regardless of gender, and this phenomenon appeared in children aged 3-5.

These researchers believe that the reason why the students’ breasts are getting bigger in this school is that the grain and meat in the canteen of this school are polluted by estrogen.

Cereals can also understand, what is the problem of meat being contaminated by estrogen?

It turned out that shortly after the estrogen-like effect of ZEN was discovered, scientists found that low-dose ZEN was helpful to promote sexual maturity and gain meat in livestock. Therefore, ZEN and its derivatives have been sold as fattening agents for livestock for a long time. At that time, animal husbandry in many countries, including Italy, fed these synthetic growth promoters to livestock.

Zearalanol (trade name Ralgro), a derivative of ZEN, is now used to promote livestock fattening.

From 1978 to 1984, a large-scale precocious puberty incident occurred in Puerto Rico, which was attributed by many studies to the residue of ZEN or its derivative α‐ZAL (livestock is strong) in dairy products and meat products.

However, a study published in The Journal of Pediatrics in 2008 directly pointed the high incidence of precocious puberty in girls in northwest Italy to ZEN through blood tests.

Let’s look at the situation in our country. In 2012, researchers from Anhui Medical University analyzed the ZEN content in the blood of 78 children diagnosed with precocious puberty in 2009-2010, and found that the ZEN level in these China children was significantly higher than that of their peers without precocious puberty.

As more and more evidence supports the influence of ZEN on children and human reproduction, the World Health Organization recommends that the maximum tolerable daily intake of ZEN is 0.5 micrograms, while the EU’s recommendation is 0.25 micrograms per kilogram of body weight per day.

Although human beings are beginning to realize the harm of ZEN, it does not mean that we have an effective way to remove it. Another danger of ZEN is that it is a very stable substance, even at the temperature of 150 degrees Celsius, ZEN will not decompose. In other words, ordinary families can’t remove ZEN from food by cooking.

However, the traditional physical and chemical methods can not remove ZEN without destroying the nutritional components of grain, so ZEN detoxification of grain has become an agricultural technical problem.

The existing detoxification methods include enzymatic mildew remover, montmorillonite adsorption and so on, but these are only laboratory studies and have not been applied on a large scale. In daily life, the methods of removing ZEN are not beautiful, such as lime water soaking and chlorination.

Because of the reproductive toxicity of ZEN to human beings and livestock and the difficulty of detoxification, the European Union banned the use of ZEN as an animal feed additive in 1988. In 2010, our country also listed the derivative of ZEN, α-ZAL, as a non-edible substance (but it can be used as a feed additive). China’s national standard (GB 13078.2-2006) also stipulates the maximum limit of ZEN in feed.

So how can ordinary consumers reduce the harm of ZEN?

The advice of the World Health Organization is: buy fresh grains as much as possible, store them in a dry and cool place, discard the damp and moldy parts in time, and don’t store them for too long without eating.

Bring science home.

Struggle hard, start again, and start again after reform and opening up —— Forty deputies discuss the forty years of reform and opening up.

  【Economic article

On the reform and opening up, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said this — —

In the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the people of China have successfully embarked on a road of Socialism with Chinese characteristics with an enterprising spirit of opening roads on every mountain and bridging bridges when encountering water, and a tenacity of dripping water wears away stones. We have encountered difficulties and challenges, but we have made unremitting efforts and kept pace with the times, writing the story of the development and progress of contemporary China with diligence, courage and wisdom.

Work hard, start a new business, and start again after reform and opening up.

Forty years is magnificent, and forty years is stirring in China. Great reform and opening up have greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of hundreds of millions of people, from poverty to food and clothing, to a well-off society as a whole, and achieved leap-forward development; From the coast to the riverside, from the east to the central and western regions, the opening up has been promoted in all directions. China’s economic development has made great achievements that shocked the world and created a miracle of sustained high-speed growth.

In the critical period when Socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era, the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China drew a grand blueprint for building a well-off society in an all-round way and winning the great victory of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and pointed out the direction for the Chinese ship to sail to the other side of the great rejuvenation victory. Starting from the reform and opening up, China will achieve new breakthroughs at a new starting point.

Carry out the reform to the end

2018 is the 40th year of China’s reform and opening up.

Forty years of hard work. The Communist Party of China (CPC) united and led the people in the new great revolution of reform and opening up, which not only created "the most exciting miracle in the history of human development", but also achieved a great leap from "catching up with the times" to "leading the times".

Happiness is a struggle. In the past 40 years, China has created a development miracle that attracts worldwide attention, and the lives of hundreds of millions of people in China have undergone earth-shaking changes.

Time has proved that over the past 40 years, we have blazed a new and good road.

Time will surely prove that the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will be realized in the process of reform and opening up.

"We should take the opportunity of celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up to the outside world, open roads on every mountain, bridge when encountering water, and carry out the reform to the end." In the 2018 New Year message, the General Secretary of the Supreme Leader issued a call.

Do not forget your initiative mind, keep moving. At the time of the National People’s Congress and the National People’s Congress, Guangming Daily invited 40 deputies to recall the past years, look at the current prosperity, review the vicissitudes of the past 40 years, talk about their own feelings, and think about how to "start a business after hard work and start again after reform and opening up" in the new era. We will launch five special editions from the perspectives of economy, education, culture, science and technology, and people’s livelihood, so as to share with you the "story of spring" in the past 40 years and listen to the strong voice of reform in the "new era of endeavor".

  Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

China’s GDP jumped from 364.5 billion yuan in 1978 to 82.7 trillion yuan in 2017. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 6,546.8 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 33,462.3 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 42,703.2 billion yuan. China’s economic aggregate ranks second in the world.

  per capita disposable income

In 2017, the per capita disposable income of the national residents was 25,974 yuan. According to the permanent residence, the per capita disposable income of urban residents is 36,396 yuan. The per capita disposable income of rural residents is 13,432 yuan. The median per capita disposable income of rural residents is 11969 yuan.

  foreign trade

In 2017, the total import and export volume of goods was 277.923 billion yuan, of which 153.321 billion yuan was exported and 124.602 billion yuan was imported. The difference between import and export of goods (export minus import) was 2,871.8 billion yuan. The total import and export of services in the year was 4,699.1 billion yuan, of which 1,540.7 billion yuan was for service exports and 3,158.4 billion yuan was for service imports.

An international model for solving agricultural problems through the development of agriculture, countryside and farmers.

Member Huo Xuexi (Assistant to the President of Northwest A&F University)

I was born in 1960. My parents are farmers and I have five children at home. When I was a child, I only had two sets of clothes, one in winter and one in summer. When I was in primary school and middle school, my classmates and I were too hungry to listen to the last class.

In 1978, the household contract responsibility system opened the curtain of rural reform in China. Since then, township enterprises and rural diversified management systems have developed rapidly. The reform has provided a series of institutional supply and policy arrangements for rural areas, which fundamentally solved the problems of rural meals and farmers’ income.

China’s agricultural production capacity, competitiveness, security capacity and production function, economic function and ecological function have been greatly improved, and farmers’ income has increased rapidly. With the deepening of reform and opening up, the types of farmers in China are diversified, and more farmers are integrated into cities and towns. From the perspective of people, the pattern of inclusive development and deep integration development has been formed between rural areas and towns. From an international perspective, the gap between China and developed agricultural countries is narrowing, and China’s agricultural development model has become a model for developing countries to solve agricultural problems. Forty years of reform and opening up have laid a solid foundation for the development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.

The "Shenzhen Miracle" reform and opening up will never stop.

Member Wan Jie (Chairman of Yachang Culture Group)

I was born and raised in Beijing and was assigned to a state-owned enterprise after graduating from college. In 1985, with a strong curiosity about new things, several classmates and I applied to a Sino-foreign joint venture printing company in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.

I sincerely appreciate the good policy of reform and opening up. Without reform and opening up, it will be difficult for talents to flow; There will not be so many foreign companies investing in China, so that we can see the most advanced technology in the world; It is also impossible for me to start a private enterprise, so as to realize my life ideal.

It has been forty years since the reform and opening up. Today’s Shenzhen is no longer the dusty construction site. A large number of world-renowned enterprises have replaced the "three-for-one-supplement" factories that once blossomed everywhere. The export goods have changed from the processed products of foreign companies to high-tech products such as smart phones and drones independently developed and manufactured in China. We have entered a new era, the pace of reform and opening up will not stop, and a new round of reform and opening up will inevitably have a new atmosphere.

  (Guangming Daily Yan Shenghe finishing)

The reform of state-owned enterprises and the reform of mixed ownership have been steadily advanced.

Member Song Xin (Chairman of China National Gold Group Co., Ltd.)

I have the honor to experience the leap of the gold industry since the reform and opening up. In the past 40 years, China’s gold output increased from 19.7 tons in 1978 to 426.142 tons in 2017, ranking first in the world for eleven consecutive years. The gold financial market is becoming more and more mature, and scientific and technological research in the field of gold mining has been continuously strengthened.

Over the past 40 years, state-owned enterprises have gradually changed from the traditional mode under the planned economy system to modern enterprises under the market economy system. From "decentralizing power for state-owned enterprises" to establishing a modern enterprise system as the main content, from establishing a new state-owned assets management system to today’s corporate system and mixed ownership reform, the reform of state-owned enterprises has made great achievements and will continue to carry it out to the end.

The transaction volume of e-commerce in digital economy far exceeds that in developed countries.

Representative Sun Pishu (Chairman of Inspur Group)

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China’s economy has experienced changes from a big exporter and a big manufacturing country to the largest Internet application country in the world. We have also experienced great changes from "electric shock" and "touching the net" to cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence.

According to global data, China has more e-commerce transactions than the United States, Britain, France, Germany and Japan combined. Correspondingly, China has also become the country with the fastest demand for key "components" to build a digital economy industry.

China’s booming digital economy is constantly optimizing the existing economic and social structure and reconstructing the industry value chain; It is driving various factor markets in China to form a more globally competitive economic system.

The railway enterprise Internet and railway network realize deep integration.

Representative Wu Xiangdong (Director of Nanjing Railway Office and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd.)

I joined the railway work in 1993. Over the past 20 years, I have witnessed the rapid development of the railway and felt the great changes in Spring Festival travel rush.

Changzhou railway station, Jiangsu, where I worked, is a special station on the Shanghai-Nanjing line. At that time, in Spring Festival travel rush, passengers spent the New Year, the railway passed the customs, and they were nervous to cope with it, running around the clock, everyone was exhausted and the station was crowded. At the train ticket sales outlets and ticket sales halls in Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou streets, the "long queue" for ticket purchase can’t be seen at a glance.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China’s railway industry has been flourishing, and the achievements of high-speed rail have been outstanding. The change of railway Spring Festival travel rush is not only that passengers travel more calmly and orderly, but also that the railway service is more intelligent and humanized. Internet and railway network are deeply integrated, and railway service is entering the era of "internet plus". A variety of convenient ticket purchasing methods, such as Alipay payment, WeChat "code scanning payment" ticket purchasing, and APP seat selection, have changed the dilemma of manual ticket purchasing, brought more convenient travel experience to passengers, and made passengers have a real sense of gain.

China’s foreign trade ranks first in the world in terms of goods trade.

Member Gao Rongkun (Commissioner of Shanghai Customs)

In January 1978, nine young customs officers of Shanghai Customs suggested resuming tariff collection and reforming the customs management system. Thirteen years after China Customs stopped levying tariffs, the voice from the grassroots has attracted the attention of the central authorities.

Subsequently, various reform measures were introduced one after another: in January 1980, the customs officially resumed tariff collection; In February, the State Council made a decision on reforming the customs management system and established the General Administration of Customs. The customs collected 3.18 billion yuan in the first year of tax collection, and it has exceeded 1,896.7 billion yuan in 2017.

At the same time, China’s foreign trade has advanced by leaps and bounds, and China has been the world’s largest trader of goods for several years. The Shanghai Customs Building, which has passed its ninetieth anniversary, witnessed a series of "firsts" of reform and opening up: in the 1990s, the first bonded zone in China was established in Shanghai Waigaoqiao; The first bonded port area in China was closed in Shanghai Yangshan Port. The first free trade pilot zone in China was established in Shanghai & HELIP; … With the planning of the first free trade port, the pace of reform of Shanghai Customs has pressed the "fast forward button", which will create more firsts and create more new history.

Power technology shows China’s new business card to the world.

Representative Ma Xiaohong (monitor of relay class of electrical branch of Liaoning Huadian Tieling Power Generation Co., Ltd.)

As an electric power person, I am extremely proud of the brilliant achievements made by China’s electric power industry. At the beginning of reform and opening up, China’s installed power generation capacity was 57.12 million kilowatts, reaching 1.78 billion kilowatts by the end of 2017.

China has the most advanced transmission technology in the world, UHV, which has not only changed its power shortage, but also actively participated in the development of power resources and power grid transformation in countries related to the Belt and Road Initiative, becoming a "new business card" created by China and made by China.

Power technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. At the beginning of 1990s, multiple relays were needed for the relay protection. However, the microcomputer-based protection device used now integrates multiple protections into a small device, which integrates protection, measurement, monitoring, control, man-machine interface, communication and other functions, and is intelligent, convenient and practical.

I believe that ordinary jobs can also realize the value of life. I want to be a skilled worker, become a "great country craftsman" in the new era and contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream.

  (Guangming Daily Gong Liang finishing)

The development environment of private enterprises and private economy is constantly optimized.

Representative Wan Lianbu (Chairman of Jin Zhengda Ecological Engineering Group Co., Ltd.)

The prelude of China’s reform and opening-up started from the countryside. As an entrepreneur in the agricultural field, I deeply realized that without the "big start" of reform and opening up, there would be no "small start" of private enterprises; Without the soil for the country to continuously consolidate and cultivate the development of private economy after the reform and opening up, there would be no flowering results of private enterprises today.

2018 is my twentieth year in the fertilizer industry. In the first decade of entrepreneurship, independent innovation broke the technological monopoly of developed countries, and the production cost was half less than that of foreign countries. With the popularization of slow-release fertilizers, the utilization rate of agricultural chemical fertilizers in China has been greatly improved. In the second decade, we began to set our sights on the international market and set up overseas branches in more than ten countries and regions such as the United States and Germany. In 2016, Jin Zhengda acquired the world’s fertilizer giants for 110 million euros, completing the largest overseas acquisition of China’s fertilizer industry to date.

In the next decade or even longer, it will be an important mission of our agricultural enterprises to help "store grain in the ground" and the national rural revitalization strategy.

  [educational article]

On education, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said this — —

In the final analysis, the comprehensive national strength competition in today’s world is talent competition. Talents are increasingly becoming strategic resources to promote economic and social development, and the basic, leading and overall status and role of education are more prominent. In the final analysis, the realization of the goal of "two hundred years" and the realization of the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation depends on talents and education.

Work hard, start a new business, and start again after reform and opening up.

"Strive to make 1.3 billion people enjoy a better and fairer education" — — This is the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s solemn commitment to the 1.3 billion people in China, and it is also the starting point of a better life for everyone in China.

In the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, from establishing the strategy of giving priority to the development of education, to making rejuvenating the country through science and education a basic national policy, and then to the strategy of strengthening the country through talents … … In the face of unprecedented challenges and strategic opportunities, China has made a major historical choice, which is crucial to the future of the country and the destiny of the nation. A better and fairer education road has been laid out at the feet of 1.3 billion people in China: resuming the college entrance examination, cultivating people by virtue, reforming and innovating, promoting fairness and improving quality … … A picture of China’s education, which is satisfactory to the people and brilliant to everyone, has been painted with rich colors, and the 1.3 billion China people enriched with knowledge and belief have become a powerful engine to lift the dream of national rejuvenation.

  Educational memorabilia

  1977

The college entrance examination was resumed. In that year, the number of applicants was 5.7 million, the number of admissions was 270,000, and the admission rate was 4.7%.

  In 1986

The Compulsory Education Law of People’s Republic of China (PRC) was promulgated and implemented.

  In 2001

China has achieved the strategic goal of basically popularizing nine-year compulsory education and basically eliminating illiteracy among young and middle-aged people as scheduled.

  In 2002

The State Council issued the "Notice on Improving the Management System of Rural Compulsory Education", requiring all localities to establish a funding guarantee mechanism for compulsory education, ensure the input of rural compulsory education, and ensure that the salaries of rural primary and secondary school teachers are paid in full and on time.

  2010 years

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010— In 2020), it is proposed that by 2020, education modernization will be basically realized, a learning society will be basically formed, and it will enter the ranks of powerful countries in human resources.

  In 2012

For the first time, the national financial education funds exceeded 2 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 4% of GDP for the first time. From 2012 to 2016, the national fiscal education expenditure increased year after year, accounting for more than 4% of GDP for five consecutive years.

  In 2015

The State Council issued the Notice on Further Improving the Funding Guarantee Mechanism of Urban and Rural Compulsory Education, which requires the integration of the funding guarantee mechanism of rural compulsory education and the policy of rewarding and subsidizing urban compulsory education, and the establishment of a unified funding guarantee mechanism of urban and rural compulsory education that is divided into central and local projects and shared in proportion.

  the year 2017

There were 9.4 million candidates enrolled in the college entrance examination that year.

Good starting point, turning point in life, turning point in the country

Member Guan Peijun (former deputy minister-level full-time member of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and vice president of China Higher Education Association)

2018, the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up. As a 78-year-old college student, I am glad, gratified, excited, longing and filled with emotion when I step into the new era.

Fortunately, I caught up with the college entrance examination forty years ago. When I was allowed to take the college entrance examination, time was very tight. In 1978, a total of 6.1 million people took the national college entrance examination, and the admission rate was less than 7%. The college entrance examination is a turning point in my life and in my country. We were born at the right time.

It is gratifying that China has made great achievements in education in the past 40 years. In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China’s education has achieved leap-forward development. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, educational reform and development have attracted worldwide attention. The high-profile college entrance examination is not what it used to be. The reform of classified examination, comprehensive evaluation and multiple admission has taken a new step.

What is even more exciting and longing is that today’s education has opened a new chapter. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. In the final analysis, it depends on talents and education to realize the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. "Building an educational power is the basic project for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We must give priority to education, deepen educational reform, accelerate educational modernization, and run a satisfactory education for the people." The people’s yearning for "fair and quality education" is the direction of educational reform and development. Accurate poverty alleviation and comprehensive well-off in poverty-stricken areas are also inseparable from education. As the new member of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, I will do my duty, fulfill my duty, Do not forget your initiative mind, live up to my mission, support and promote education reform and development, and dare not slack off a little.

Good talents connect the future with the destiny of the motherland.

Representative Qiu Yong (President of Tsinghua University)

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Tsinghua University has made great efforts to cultivate new people of the times who are responsible for national rejuvenation. From young students, I have seen several gratifying changes:

First, the dedication of young students to serve the motherland is constantly increasing. Not long ago, Nan Rendong, an alumnus of Tsinghua in 1968 and the "father of the Eye of the Eyes", was deeply moved by the students in Tsinghua. In 2017, a group of Tsinghua seniors, with an average age of 72, sang their deep love for the motherland with a song "I Love You China" in the program "Brilliant China People". Many students told me that from these predecessors, they felt that only by connecting their own future with the destiny of the motherland can they answer their own time papers well. In 2017, more than 300 Tsinghua graduates went to the west to make contributions to the motherland.

Second, the innovative and entrepreneurial abilities of young students have been continuously improved. Recently, 11 young Tsinghua University alumni were named "Outstanding Talents under 30 in Asia" by Forbes magazine in 2017, including four founders of Tsinghua students’ start-up team cultivated by our school’s creative innovation and entrepreneurship education platform. In 2015, the supercomputing team composed of six undergraduates from Tsinghua won three international supercomputing competitions, and in 2017, it won two more championships and a runner-up. This shows the growing innovative spirit and ability of the younger generation in China. In the future, we will build a complete system of creative innovation and entrepreneurship education, stimulate students’ creative spirit of independent thinking and dare to question, and strive to improve students’ innovative and entrepreneurial ability.

A good school, the old house has become a new house.

Representative Zhi Yueying (teacher of Baiyang Teaching School in Zaoxia Town, Fengxin County, Jiangxi Province)

In 1980, at the age of 19, I went to Niyang Village Primary School in Zaoxia Town, Fengxin County, Yichun City, nearly 1000 meters above sea level and 45 kilometers away from the township, and became a mountain village teacher.

At that time, Niyang Village Primary School was located deep in the mountains. At the beginning of school, children’s textbooks, chalk, etc. are transported up the mountain by teachers walking more than ten kilometers of mountain roads. Now, all this has become a thing of the past. In 2015, a two-story teaching building funded by the state rose from the ground, and the old house became a new house. At the same time, a playground, a kitchen and a bathroom were built, connected to the Internet and equipped with modern teaching equipment. In the past, the villagers didn’t pay much attention to education. I often went door to door to do my work. Now the villagers attach great importance to education, especially after the implementation of the "two exemptions and one subsidy" policy, the popularization of compulsory education here has achieved remarkable results, and many students have been promoted to high school and admitted to universities.

At the beginning of 2018, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teachers’ Team Construction in the New Era, which put forward the goal of "making teachers feel happy in their posts, fulfilled in their careers and honored in society, and making teachers an enviable profession". I was very excited after reading it. It is expected that the government will continue to increase its support, so that the vast number of rural teaching points will continue to move toward "small but beautiful, small but excellent".

Good teachers’ quality determines the quality of education.

Member Tang Jiangpeng (President of Jiangsu Xishan High School)

In 1980, I graduated from high school and became a private teacher. It was lucky for me that high school graduates went to the high school podium. For the education at that time, it was also a helpless choice for the shortage of teachers. At that time, few of my colleagues in the county middle school graduated from college. While teaching, I listened to the courses of CCTV on the radio, and I got a junior college diploma after three years of self-study. In such a difficult study, I deeply feel that only with good teachers can we have a good education.

With the deepening of reform and opening up, I became the principal of Xishan High School in Jiangsu Province in 2006, and the educational environment has been greatly improved. Over the past decade or so, the proportion of teachers with graduate degrees in our school has increased from 3% to 48%, doctoral graduates have begun to take to the podium, and a number of high-level part-time teachers have been hired at home and abroad — — The fencing class of our school is taught by the former head coach of the German national team, and the football teacher is from the Manchester United youth training team. The design class is taught by the dean of the university. High-quality teachers provide broad space and full support for students’ individualized development.

In the new era, school education must be reformed and innovated, and teachers should constantly enrich themselves according to social needs and make greater contributions to training builders and successors of the socialist cause.

A good life still has a brilliant life in vocational schools.

Representative Wang Hongjun (Director, Engineering Training Center, Nanjing Institute of Industrial Technology)

Since the reform and opening up, China’s vocational education has been developing continuously. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the state’s investment in vocational education has been increasing, and the conditions for running schools have been greatly improved. The whole society pays more attention to the development of vocational education, and the recognition of vocational education has been greatly improved; The ability of vocational colleges to serve the national economic construction has also been greatly improved.

In 1987, although I got the first grade in the senior high school entrance examination in the town, which was much higher than the admission scores of key middle schools, due to family conditions, at my father’s strong request, I applied for Nanjing Electromechanical School (now Nanjing Industrial Vocational and Technical College) and became attached to vocational education from then on. After graduating from school in 1991, I had the opportunity to meet more children who got new opportunities in life because of vocational education. I remember more than ten years ago, a student dropped out of school because of family financial difficulties. As a class teacher, I gave him some financial help, which also made him cherish the opportunity to go to school. Now, he is a maintenance expert of surface mount equipment. You can still have a brilliant life when you go to vocational school.

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China puts forward new requirements for education in the new era, such as "improving the vocational education and training system, deepening the integration of production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation", which gives a clear positioning for the future development of vocational education and makes our vocational education workers full of confidence and enthusiasm.

In the future, the proportion of key rural children will increase year by year.

Member Ma Zongbao (Vice President of Ningxia University)

I was born in Yangshan Village, Liwang Town, Haiyuan County, Xihaigu, Ningxia in 1968. With the process of reform and opening up, five of our seven brothers were admitted to universities.

In 1980, Huimin Middle School was established in Haiyuan County, from which I was admitted to the Central University for Nationalities. It is precisely because of the reform and opening up and the party’s ethnic education policy that I have such an opportunity to change my destiny. In the late 1990s, some children in the village couldn’t afford to go to college for a time, and some families even had to sell their only cattle to pay for their tuition. This situation soon changed with the improvement of the state funding policy.

Since the reform and opening up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, policies to promote education equity have been introduced one after another. The enrollment of colleges and universities has tilted towards the central and western regions, and efforts have been made to narrow the gap between regional and urban and rural higher education opportunities. The proportion of key universities in rural areas has increased year by year. In 2017, Ningxia University, where I am located, distributed 59.585 million yuan of various scholarships, and the number of students assisted exceeded 16,000.

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the strategy of rural revitalization, and the core element of rural revitalization is people. We should attach great importance to the development of rural human resources, and through education, establish a smooth upward channel for rural students, so that the vast number of rural students can share the opportunity to shine in life.

A good stage develops and grows by sticking to the initial heart.

Representative Cheng Enfu (Member of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chief Professor of China Academy of Social Sciences)

Looking at the development and changes in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, what I feel most is that China’s education is increasingly moving towards the world stage.

In 2017, China Academy of Social Sciences was founded, and I was fortunate to be the deputy director and chief professor of the academic committee of the youngest university in China. Since its inception, China Academy of Social Sciences has established internationalization as its own school-running feature, and has established student exchange programs with world-renowned universities such as Frankfurt University, University of California, Waseda University, etc. The University of China Academy of Social Sciences has also set up special scholarships to encourage foreign students from countries and regions related to the Belt and Road Initiative to come to the school for exchange and study.

China’s education is first and foremost a socialist education. These years’ experience has made me deeply feel that China’s education, which is going to the world, is developing and growing by sticking to its initial heart.

As a member of the evaluation group of Marxist theory discipline of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, director of the Department of Marxist Studies of China Academy of Social Sciences and leader of the discipline of advantages of basic principles of Marxism, I have participated in the whole process of Marxist discipline construction of China Academy of Social Sciences for more than ten years.

At present, seven two disciplines structures, such as the basic principles of Marxism, the sinicization of Marxism, the development history of Marxism, foreign Marxism, the basic problems of modern and contemporary history of China, ideological and political education and party building, have been formed, and the undergraduate major of Marxist theory is under preparation. In the near future, a complete education system of Marxist theory will be established, which is the first in socialist countries. I believe that this will surely lay a talent foundation for promoting scientific socialism to glow with great vitality in China.

Good times are of higher quality, fairer and more distinctive.

Representative of Zhou Hongyu (Professor of Huazhong Normal University)

In 1976, I came to Jingmen rural mountainous area from Wuhan, Hubei Province, and experienced the polishing of rural grassroots life. At the end of 1977, I caught up with the first college entrance examination after the college entrance examination system was restored, and later I was admitted to the university, and my fate was changed through the college entrance examination. After graduating from college in 1982, I have been engaged in educational research and teaching, and later I had the opportunity to engage in educational management.

Over the past decades, I have personally experienced many major events in the process of China’s educational reform and development. Among them, what impressed me the most was the appeal and promotion of participating in the implementation of free compulsory education.

On the evening of March 2, 2003, on the eve of the two sessions of the National People’s Congress, as a newly elected deputy to the National People’s Congress, I was invited to write an article to a media entitled "Implementing a completely free compulsory education system should start in rural areas", in which it was proposed that compulsory education is a public product and should be provided by the government. The state should implement the nine-year compulsory education system completely free of charge, that is, not only the tuition and miscellaneous fees of students are completely exempted, but also textbooks should be provided to students free of charge. After this proposal was published in the newspaper, it caused widespread concern, and also attracted the attention and attention of relevant departments and leaders. A few days later, I further revised and supplemented this proposal on the implementation of a completely free compulsory education system in rural areas, and submitted it to the National People’s Congress as a personal suggestion.

After that, for many years, I called on the National People’s Congress and many occasions outside the meeting to implement the completely free compulsory education in rural areas as soon as possible. These efforts have also received the attention of the central authorities. Since 2006, China has gradually implemented completely free compulsory education. Since the spring of 2017, the free textbook policy has achieved full coverage in all regions of the country. This fully reflects that the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the core attaches great importance to education and responds positively to the voice of the people.

Today, education in China has entered a new era. I believe that the future education in China will strive for higher quality, fairer, more distinctive and more sustainable development, and create greater glories.

  [science and technology]

On science and technology, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said this — —

Science and technology is a sharp weapon for the country, which depends on it to be strong, enterprises to win, and people’s lives to be good. China is strong, China people’s lives are better, and we must have strong science and technology.

Work hard, start a new business, and start again after reform and opening up.

In 1978, when the spring breeze of reform and opening up spread all over the land of China, this ancient land, where great scientific and technological achievements such as the "Four Great Inventions" were born, showed new vitality. That year, the National Science Conference was held, which ushered in the "spring of science"; That year, Xu Chi published the reportage "Goldbach conjecture", which set off an upsurge of loving and devoting to science; That year, Tu Youyou and artemisinin came into public view for the first time, and the "pearl" excavated from the pharmaceutical treasure house of the motherland was polished … … That year, there were many beginnings, and China Science and Technology set sail again.

In the next 40 years, we have seen China’s scientific and technological workers make great progress in basic science, engineering technology, agricultural science and technology, information technology and many other fields. We can "ride" the "dragon" to explore the deep sea, "wear" the "eye of the sky" to see the universe, and we can also use Beidou to navigate and use quantum communication … … In the field of science and technology with fierce international competition, we are changing from "runner" to "runner" or even "leader". Today, as we enter a new era, we stand at a new starting point for building a world power in science and technology and usher in another spring.

  Enhancement of innovation ability

The scientific and technological team has been growing. In 1992, the full-time equivalent of R&D personnel was 674,300 person-years, and in 2016 it reached 3,878,100 person-years. The investment in science and technology is increasing. In 2017, the total social R&D expenditure was 1.76 trillion yuan, an increase of 70.9% over 2012. Scientific research achievements have been continuously improved. In 2005, 940,000 scientific papers were published, reaching 1.65 million in 2016. At present, the total number and cited amount of international papers rank second in the world. Since the first invention patent was granted in 1985, it took only 27 years to realize 1 million invention patents. In 2017, the contribution rate of scientific and technological progress rose from 52.2% in 2012 to 57.5%, and the ranking of national innovation ability rose from the 20th in the world in 2012 to the 17th.

Emergence of scientific and technological achievements

The level of scientific and technological innovation has accelerated to the first phalanx in the world, and entered a new historical stage of coexistence of three runs, leading and running more and more. A number of major innovations have emerged, such as "Eye of the Sky" sounding, Shenzhou flying, Mozi "signaling", high-speed rail Mercedes-Benz, Beidou networking, super-calculation "outbursts", the first flight of a large plane, and the birth of a cloned monkey & HELIP; …

  Double-creation ecological formation

From the birth of the first technology business incubator in China in 1987, by the end of 2016, there were 4,298 creative spaces, 3,255 technology business incubators and more than 400 business accelerators in China. Together with 19 national independent innovation demonstration zones and 156 national high-tech zones, they have formed an increasingly perfect business incubation ecological chain. At present, China has established scientific and technological cooperation relations with 158 countries in the world and participated in more than 200 international organizations and multilateral mechanisms.

Scientific and Technological Innovation Showing China’s Wisdom

  Guangming Daily Chen Haibo finishing

After 40 years of reform and opening up, especially in the last 10 years, the investment in science and technology has been increasing and the system and mechanism have been continuously optimized. The original innovation achievements of basic research in China have been one after another, and high-tech has made rapid progress, which has attracted worldwide attention.

Around the Spring Festival in 2018, China scholars published 12 research papers in three international academic journals: Nature, Science and Cell. As a biomedical worker, I am very proud, because 11 of them are related to life science and medicine, which reflects the vigorous momentum of scientific and technological innovation in generate.

It is not accidental to produce such a development momentum, it stems from the uniqueness of China’s scientific and technological innovation system. In recent years, China has increased the top-level design of scientific and technological innovation system construction, encouraged multiple teams with different characteristics and professional and technical characteristics to tackle key problems around a major goal and realize the whole chain innovation. In addition, the country attaches great importance to the creation of innovative cultural atmosphere, encourages the emergence of original technical systems and revolutionary scientific ideas, and advocates the unique and innovative spirit based on local conditions.

In the new era, China scholars should have sufficient self-confidence to create an autonomous theory and technology system. In the field of science and technology with fierce international competition, we should vigorously advocate a new way of "building roads and bridges by splitting mountains", build our own road and go our own way, and reach the commanding heights of science and technology that others can’t reach.

The development of science and technology forms China’s strength

Representative Wu Jian (Director of the 22nd Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Corporation)

Guangming Daily Wang Shengxi and our correspondent Liu Junqi arranged it.

Thanks to the tide of reform and opening up, in the 1980s, I was sent to France to study for a doctorate. When I went abroad for the first time, the biggest shock was the gap in scientific research conditions and the gap in scientific research vision and level.

In 1993, I came to France again as a visiting scholar. I was deeply impressed by the caption of a poster in the subway — — "Look out, China people have caught up!"

In 1998, the rotating chairman of the European Federation of Incoherent Scattering Sciences came to China and invited China to join this international organization. A few years later, China officially became one of them and participated in the research of international frontier topics in the field of radio wave propagation. Soon, we independently researched and established our own incoherent radar, and we no longer have to envy others.

China has also initiated an international grand science program — — The International meridian circle Project aims to solve the world-wide problems such as space weather and extreme weather, and has made a scientific and technological China contribution to building a community of human destiny.

I witnessed the process of China’s science and technology from lagging behind others to worshipping others as teachers, and then coming from behind. Great scientific and technological achievements such as "Tiangong", "Dragon", "Eye of the Sky" and "Mozi" as well as large airplanes have amazed the world. This is China’s confidence that we should have. We will continue to produce more and better results, so that China science and technology can lead the world.

I went to college in 1978, when the scientific research conditions in China were very backward. In 1987, I went to Germany to study for a doctorate, and I saw that foreign research was not as profound as we thought. As long as we concentrate our efforts and do it in a down-to-earth manner, we will certainly be able to raise the level of scientific research.

In the autumn of 1993, after I finished my postdoctoral research project in Germany, I immediately returned to China University of Science and Technology.

In the early 1990s, China Academy of Sciences began to implement the "Hundred Talents Program", and the National Natural Science Foundation of China launched the "National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars". I was the first to be selected. When I got such a large amount of funding, I felt I had to do something bigger and do internationally influential research. Nowadays, our research on the geochemistry of continental subduction zone is at the forefront of the world.

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China drew a grand blueprint of "accelerating the construction of an innovative country". "Growing old is only healthy and strong, and returning home in the autumn solstice. Watered the Dongyuan tree and made flowers in the coming year. " This poem was written before I returned to China, and now I give it to young scientists and technicians. I hope that you will continue to carry forward the spirit of hard work, rigor and pragmatism, pioneering and innovative on the road of scientific research in the new era and make contributions to building a socialist modern power.

  Metrology technology moves towards world-class

  Guangming Daily Chen Haibo finishing

Since the reform and opening up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China’s metrology technology has rapidly advanced to the world’s first class, and the main innovation indicators have begun to enter the forefront of the world.

Metrology science and technology takes the mission of strengthening the country and enriching the people, and supports the construction of major national strategic projects and the improvement of people’s livelihood.

According to the data released by the International Bureau of Metrology at the end of 2017, the number of internationally recognized national calibration and measurement capabilities (CMC) in China reached 1,523, ranking fourth in the world and first in Asia, and it is expected to enter the first phalanx of the world’s measurement powers in 2018. In some fields, China has become a global leader in measurement innovation, and has made positive contributions to the quantization reform of measurement and the redefinition of measurement units. In addition, the quantization Hall resistance benchmark, a scientific research project completed by China Institute of Metrology for more than 20 years, is more than 10 times more accurate than the highest level abroad at that time. This series of technological achievements highlights China’s status and responsibility as a big country, and also enables China’s metrology technology to gradually improve from following and running to leading.

As metrology scientists and technicians, we should strive to build a world-class metrology power and provide more protection for strengthening the country and enriching the people.

High-speed railway to build independent property rights

Member Zhao Hongwei (Chief Engineer of china academy of railway sciences)

  Guangming Daily Wang Qingbin finishing

I became attached to high-speed rail in 2005, when I negotiated technology transfer with foreign high-speed rail companies. Although there were achievements, the core technology transfer was minimal. We thought at that time, we must have our own "brain of high-speed rail" — — Networked control system.

In 2009, china railway high-speed with technology transfer was put into operation on Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway. At that time, most of the vehicles were new models, and the EMU had poor adaptability to China’s environment and lines. There were always problems in the network control system, and foreign experts were at a loss. We had to explore for ourselves slowly.

Since 2012, under the leadership of China Railway Corporation, scientific research forces have been assembled to start the design and development of China’s standard EMU. Among them, the network control system is developed by our team. In 2015, the network control system with independent intellectual property rights was finally loaded. At that time, I was very happy, but I didn’t dare to relax, because the system had to pass various tests.

On July 15, 2016, two Chinese standard EMUs successfully completed the rendezvous and reconnection operation test on Zhengzhou-Xuzhou high-speed railway. The network control system makes two trains of EMUs made by different manufacturers linked together smoothly, creating an international precedent. On June 25, 2017, China Standard EMU was officially named "Fuxing" and officially launched in both directions on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway on the 26th. At this point, China high-speed rail has entered a new era.

At present, 400 km variable gauge EMU and alpine EMU are being developed. We are pursuing not only speed, but also green and intelligence. It is estimated that in 2022, ordinary people will be able to take the "self-driving, manned" high-speed train to Beijing to watch the Winter Olympics!

  Food safety guards people’s health.

In March 1978, the National Science Conference was held, which issued a great call to the whole society to "March into the modernization of science and technology". At that time, although I was only a 15-year-old middle school student, I was also deeply inspired. After graduating from college, with the ideal of scientific research, I embarked on the road of scientific research and exploration of food detection technology.

Food is the most important thing for the people, and safety is the first thing to eat. More than 80% of food comes from agricultural products, and detection technology is the most important scientific and technological support to ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products. In the early days of reform and opening up, China solved the problem of people’s "eating" by developing the quantity of agricultural products. After that, the research on agricultural product quality testing technology entered a period of rapid development.

During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" and "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China’s scientific and technological investment in the quality and safety of agricultural products has gradually increased, and our scientific research team has also been supported and developed.

In the 40 years of reform and opening up, people’s consumption concept has undergone fundamental changes, not only to "eat enough", but also to "eat safely, healthily and nutritionally". At present, China has established a quality and safety system of agricultural products under the protection of laws and regulations, and the quality and safety testing technology of agricultural products has reached the international leading level, and the pass rate of routine monitoring of agricultural products has steadily increased.

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward that "the food safety strategy should be implemented so that people can eat with confidence". In order to further improve the technical level of agricultural product quality inspection in China, we will focus on the national strategy of agricultural product quality and safety, deeply study key technologies, strengthen technical integration and demonstration application, and ensure the safety of agricultural products from farmland to table.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Glows Traditional Charm

Forty years ago, the National Science Conference announced the arrival of "scientific spring", and the ancient Chinese medicine also ushered in new vitality. Especially in the past two decades, the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine has promoted the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and modern science and technology, and opened up a road of inheritance, innovation and development.

Guided by scientific and technological innovation, a number of Chinese medicine research theories and key technologies have been broken through, a number of high-level Chinese medicine research platforms have developed and expanded, and a number of large varieties of Chinese medicine with remarkable clinical effects have emerged.

Since the start of modernization of traditional Chinese medicine, the technology of traditional Chinese medicine has made great progress. Especially in the past five years, many landmark achievements have been made in the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine, such as the completion of a phase III clinical trial of Compound Danshen Dripping Pill Capsule by the US Food and Drug Administration. There has also been a new breakthrough in the EU registration of traditional Chinese medicines, and a number of proprietary Chinese medicines such as Ginkgo biloba leaves are being studied in the EU registration. Researcher Tu Youyou won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of artemisinin, which once again set off an upsurge of understanding, learning and studying Chinese medicine.

In the future, we should further fully understand the value and contribution of traditional Chinese medicine, take the original theoretical system and original thinking of traditional Chinese medicine as the guide, make full use of modern scientific and technological means to deeply explore the scientific connotation of traditional Chinese medicine, and turn the original advantages of traditional Chinese medicine into a new driving force to promote economic and social development, so as to better serve human health and further promote Chinese excellent traditional culture.

Breeding technology helps animal husbandry development

Representative Lin Linsen (Deputy Director of the Central Agricultural Committee of the Democratic League and Vice President of the College of Animal Science and Technology of Northwest A&F University)

  Guangming Daily Zhan Yuan arranges.

Before the reform and opening up, cattle were raised only for farming, not for selling beef. At that time, China invested very little in animal husbandry research such as cattle breeding and improvement, and the beef output was extremely low. In 1978, the per capita consumption of beef in China was only 0.31 kg.

Since 1992, I have followed Professor Qiu Huai from the former Northwest Agricultural College to carry out the meat breeding, improvement and industrial development of China yellow cattle, especially Qinchuan cattle. At that time, the main problem was that the masses liked the jujube-red Qinchuan cattle. After improvement, although the meat production performance was obviously improved, the coat color changed and the masses didn’t like it. Therefore, it was very important to popularize science from farmers at that time.

Nowadays, China’s beef consumption continues to increase.

At the end of 2016, China’s beef consumption was 7,744,600 tons, with a per capita consumption of 5.6 kilograms, which is one of the fastest growing industries in the animal husbandry industry. This is inseparable from the development and support of modern breeding technology.

We established a new model of Qinchuan cattle conservation and a technical system of molecular cell engineering breeding for high-quality beef cattle, and re-sequenced the whole genome of major yellow cattle breeds distributed in different regions of China, and constructed a whole genome genetic variation database of China yellow cattle. It provides a scientific basis for genetic improvement, resource protection and utilization of local yellow cattle in China and the cultivation of new beef cattle varieties (lines).

In the future, we plan to develop "China Yellow Cattle (Beef Cattle) Genome Typing Chip", which will be helpful for accurate genetic improvement of local yellow cattle breeds and accelerate the pace of breeding new beef cattle breeds.

  [Culture]

On culture, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said this — —

Without a high degree of cultural self-confidence and cultural prosperity, there would be no great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We should adhere to the road of cultural development in Socialism with Chinese characteristics, stimulate the cultural innovation and creativity of the whole nation, and build a socialist cultural power.

Work hard, start a new business, and start again after reform and opening up.

Culture is the soul of a country and a nation. Culture makes the country prosperous and the nation strong. It is precisely because of the strong support of Chinese culture that the Chinese nation has been developing endlessly and constantly reborn after setbacks. The excellent Chinese traditional culture nurtured in the development of 5,000 years of civilization, the revolutionary culture and the advanced socialist culture nurtured in the great struggle of the party and the people have accumulated the deepest spiritual pursuit of the Chinese nation and represent its unique spiritual identity. Today, at the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, we should vigorously carry forward the national spirit with patriotism as the core and the spirit of the times with reform and innovation as the core, vigorously carry forward China’s excellent traditional culture, vigorously develop advanced socialist culture, continuously enhance the spiritual strength of the people of all ethnic groups in China, and provide spiritual motivation and intellectual support for the new round of great practice of comprehensively deepening reform.

Accompanied by drama, we should March into classics

Representative Ren Ming (President of Beijing People’s Art Theatre)

  Guangming Daily Chen Huijuan finishing

After I graduated in 1987, I was assigned to work on such an excellent platform as People’s Arts. So far, I have directed drama independently for 31 years.

The first time I directed independently, I arranged a Soviet drama. At that time, Yu Shizhi, Ying Ruocheng, Lin Liankun and other old artists were still there, and the artistic atmosphere was particularly good. I have worked with Lin Liankun twice. When Grandpa Beijing was arranged in 1995, Mr. Lin was already the soul of the whole play, and I was still a young director. During the rehearsal, he affirmed some of my ideas and attempts. He said, "Ren Ming is a young director, and we should fully support him." Teacher Yu Shizhi also encouraged me to try boldly, but also pointed out the shortcomings to the point. All these have moved me to this day.

General Secretary of the Supreme Leader emphasized that literature and art are the clarion call for the progress of the times, which can best represent the style of an era and lead the ethos of an era. For a long time, Renyi insisted on high-quality creation, and a large number of classics emerged. At the beginning of the 21st century, the drama industry experienced a downturn, but under the example of the old artists, we established the belief of resolutely inheriting, developing hard and innovating bravely. As a director, I always hope to create a classic that reflects the times, not only paying tribute to the classic, but also marching towards the classic. Don’t give false praise in art, just seek truth and progress. Looking back suddenly, I wrote a poem "Looking Back" to let go: "Looking back for forty years, it is not simple to think about that year. Life is always expensive, and it is not difficult to have a play. "

In the 1980s, the protection of Dunhuang frescoes was still in the stage of rescue repair and protection, without the guidance of scientific and systematic standardized procedures and relatively lack of technical means, and the understanding of the causes of mural diseases was still superficial. However, all this has gradually changed with the deepening of reform and opening up. In 1989, Dunhuang Research Institute and American Getty Conservation Institute began to cooperate to protect Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. Experts from both sides found a control method by studying the law of sandstorm around Mogao Grottoes, which effectively prevented the harm of sandstorm to cave murals.

In 1997, Dunhuang Research Institute and American Getty Conservation Institute chose Cave 85 of Mogao Grottoes for cooperative protection. There are many typical diseases in this cave mural, such as empty drum, crisp alkali and nail-breaking. In the past, protection and restoration work was carried out, and after many years, the repaired crisp alkali and empty drum diseases reappeared. In order to solve this problem, we have creatively researched and explored the repair technology of empty drum grouting and mural desalination, which has solved a technical problem that has long plagued mural protection. Cave 85 project is a great progress in the research methods and techniques of Dunhuang murals protection and restoration, and the scientific protection procedure formed by Cave 85 project also marks the development of the concept and methods of cultural relics protection in China.

Looking back on these years’ protection work, we are constantly exploring, trying and innovating. The work done by Dunhuang Research Institute in the protection and research of Mogao Grottoes is a vivid footnote in the process of reform and opening up.

  Cultural industry reform promotes development.

In 1997, I left the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles to be the boss of a five-star hotel. It was at this time that my professional experience was divided into two stages: in the previous 15 years, I was a professional writer, whether teaching or doing research; In the next 20 years, I moved to media, tourism, finance, real estate and other industries, and realized my life transformation through the opportunity of cultural system reform.

Putting down the bowl of literature, Zhang Wei, a good friend and writer, did not understand my choice and scolded me for betraying literature and wasting my talent. Until 2011, I was lucky enough to be elected as "CCTV China Economic Person of the Year". After hearing this, writer Zhang Wei called and jokingly said to me, "Doing nothing can make a ‘ People ’ It is also considered that you have not lived up to literature. "

But I want to say that all these achievements are attributed to the reform of the cultural system. If the cultural market is not open, the rapid development of enterprises will not be realized at all. Therefore, reform is the only way to promote the development of cultural industries. In the past, we used reform to solve the problem of "where money comes from and where people go". Now we have to use reform to solve the new problem of "integrated development". There is still a long way to go in the future of cultural industry reform. In the new era, my goal is to take the internationalization of cultural communication, the integration of cultural formats and the innovation of cultural products as the strategic direction, build a mainstream cultural communication channel, build a technology and capital-driven development model, create a new experiential cultural format, and implement the supply-side structural reform of cultural industries in the industrial chain.

The collection of ancient books should go with the times

In 1978, the first year of reform and opening up, I chose to study liberal arts in my ignorance, and then I chose the classical literature major of Chinese Department when I volunteered for the college entrance examination. At that time, what I heard the most was: Can I support myself after studying such a little-known major? After graduating from college, I chose to work in the good headquarters of the National Library, which contains nearly 3 million ancient books. Over the past 40 years, from school to work, my feelings for Chinese ancient books have increased day by day. At the same time, my relatives, friends and teachers can understand my choice more and more. Behind this is the vigorous development of the protection and collation of Chinese ancient books in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, which enables more and more people to understand the excellent traditional culture contained in ancient books and realize the value of excellent traditional culture to contemporary China.

Although ancient books are ancient, they can go with the times. In June 2016, the Long March 7 carrier rocket was successfully launched at the Wenchang launch site in Hainan. Our elaborate thread-bound books also went into space with the rocket. In this book, there is the word "shooting" recorded in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, the description of the Goddess Chang’e flying to the moon and Luban birds in rare books of Song and Yuan Dynasties, and the description of "rocket" in ancient books of Ming and Qing Dynasties … … Not only flying, but also the records of artemisinin in ancient books have saved millions of malaria patients through the research and development of Professor Tu Youyou’s team, which is well known.

Chinese ancient books carry our extensive and heavy spiritual tradition, so how can cultural self-confidence not be firm? Facing the future and starting again, the ancient cultural traditions will surely shine more brightly in the new era and inspire powerful Chinese forces.

Inheriting drama and building cultural self-confidence

When I first learned Sichuan Opera, I never thought that the burden of inheriting Sichuan Opera would fall on my shoulders. For Sichuan opera, I didn’t like it at that time, and I even hated it a little. My father, Shen Fucun, is a Peking Opera actor. I prefer the mellow voice and elegant program of Peking Opera. When I was going to inherit my father’s mantle, fate played a joke on me. When I graduated from junior high school, I entered the drama school, but all the drama schools did not enroll students, and they still refused to recruit the next year. No way, in 1979, I had to follow my parents’ orders and chose Sichuan Opera.

It has been nearly 40 years since it became attached to Sichuan Opera tell it to the judge. From a student to an actor, and now to the director of Chongqing Sichuan Theatre, I have had many difficulties and hardships in the past few decades, not only personally, but also professionally. Since 1980s, more than 200 professional Sichuan Opera Troupes have been disbanded in Sichuan and Chongqing. However, I chose to insist, and the government also gave strong support, including facilities construction, such as Chongqing Sichuan Opera Art Center, and repertoire construction, such as "Gold" and other plays selected for the "National Stage Art Boutique Project".

If I can sum up my work in Sichuan Opera in these decades in one sentence, it is — — Constantly build cultural self-confidence. Traditional Chinese opera is the crystallization of comprehensive aesthetics of China’s excellent traditional culture, which embodies the essence of China culture and has profound connotations. Therefore, the longer I sing, the more I respect the value of excellent traditional culture. Over the years, the country has vigorously advocated "cultural going out", and the innovation of Sichuan opera has achieved such an effect to a certain extent. Foreign audiences are receptive and welcome to such exploration. But no matter what new means and technologies are adopted, we must keep the soul of Sichuan Opera.

As a teacher, an artist and a leader of art grass-roots institutions trained by the Party and the people, I have experienced great changes in China society since the reform and opening up. Since the 1990s, I have noticed that the social economy has developed rapidly, but many outstanding figures in the field of Chinese culture and art are not well known by the world. Therefore, I began to use sculptures to show outstanding figures of the nation and the times, hoping to show the cultural character of an era through a series of statues.

My initial intention is to feel the ambition of people with lofty ideals in history, the strength and spirit of the people displayed in ordinary life and the pace of reform and opening up. In the past 30 years, I have created nearly 500 sculptures with my pure heart, the main contents of which are outstanding figures and major events in the history of the Chinese nation. I have made statues of the great man Deng Xiaoping many times. In 2014, at the invitation of the Central Literature Research Office, I created a portrait of Deng Xiaoping. I focused on putting such a great man in the process of social development in China. Our generation grew up in the reform and opening up, benefited from the new era, witnessed the gratifying changes in people’s material life and spiritual outlook in the great social changes, and felt the progress of the country and the nation.

Art has national boundaries and must be nourished by local culture. China art should be nourished by the spirit of the Chinese nation. For artists, the most important thing is to integrate personal feelings into people’s emotions, project personal vision into the world, and integrate personal pursuits into national pursuits. Art emphasizes individuality, but it should reflect the times and people’s nature in individuality. Only in this way can works have great tension.

Looking back on the historical process in the past 40 years, the reform and opening up not only refreshed the national spirit, but also strongly supported and promoted the vigorous development of China’s art.

In 1990, I started shooting my first film "Brothers and Sisters in the Far Mountains", and later I was specially recruited into Bayi Film Studio at the end of 2013. It is my lifelong dream to be a soldier on the front of military culture, film and television, and restore the true history to the audience in an artistic way with movies as the carrier.

Before the film "Four Days and Nights of Zhou Enlai" was filmed, we had an interview in Boyan, Wu ‘an, an old district for four months, and we ate and lived with fellow villagers, forming a profound friendship. The old people who experienced that period of history told us with tears about Premier Zhou’s four days and four nights there, which was a soul purification for every creator. In 2016, after the TV series "Haitang Still" was broadcast, it had a strong social response. The subsequent film "A Bloody Xiangjiang River" won many awards such as the "Five One Projects" Excellent Works Award in the 14th Spiritual Civilization Construction.

For historical film and television works, it is very important to grasp the revolutionary spirit and historical facts. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up. I hope that our artists will continue to accept the test of the times and inspire themselves to create works that reflect national pride and represent the spirit of the new era with higher pursuit.

When my third brother returned to work in the city from the educated youth farm, I came from the city to the farm of 103 Geological Team in the countryside. Different from the original "going to the countryside", it was at the end of 1980, and the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee had been held for two years, and the return of educated youth to the city basically ended. At that time, there were many unemployed young people in the 103 geological team, about 200 people. At that time, the geological team was directly under the Central Ministry of Geology and Minerals, and the losers who graduated from junior high school and high school in their children’s schools could only be digested by their own units, so more than 200 people went to the geological team farm in a mighty way. At the end of 1984, I became a geological team member. However, at that time, the 103 geological team was not rich, and the employees lived in old and low mud-walled bungalows.

By the time I left in 1990, the business of the 103 Geological Team had gone beyond geographical restrictions, covering all parts of the country and even overseas. The living conditions of workers have improved significantly, and mud-walled bungalows have gradually disappeared. In 2000, I visited the 103 Geological Team and saw rows of brand-new buildings rising from the ground. In those days, some teammates were strong in business, and they could earn millions of dollars a year by relying on technology; Some people go to the sea to do business, not only to get rich by themselves, but also to increase local employment opportunities.

Recently, I visited the 103 Geological Team again and stood on the newly-built Aurora Square. I saw tall buildings replacing the buildings of that year. In the square, people, old and young, are dancing and boxing. Seeing this scene, I can’t help feeling to the captain of the 103 geological team: "It’s not easy and great that the 103 geological team can have today!" The captain was deeply impressed. In short, in the past few decades, the 103 Geological Team has been changing, and so has our life, but what will never change is the memory of reform that remains in people’s hearts.

  People’s livelihood

closeYu Minsheng, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader, said this — —

Leading the people to create a better life is our party’s unswerving goal. We must always put the interests of the people in the supreme position, let the fruits of reform and development benefit all the people more fairly, and make continuous progress towards achieving common prosperity for all the people.

Work hard, start a new business, and start again after reform and opening up.

Forty years have passed by, and when we look back, the incidence of poverty in China has dropped to 3.1%. It has become a reality step by step to get education for young children, education for learning, income from work, medical care for the sick, support for the old, housing and support for the weak, and new development has been achieved.

One thing after another, year after year, the people have more sense of gain, happiness and security. Under the guidance of the Supreme Leader’s Socialism with Chinese characteristics Thought in the new era, the reform and opening up are full of expectations and set out again in the direction of realizing common prosperity for all people.

  Poverty alleviation and development

Since the reform and opening up, the number of poor people in China has dropped from 250 million in 1978 to 30.46 million in 2017, and the incidence of poverty has dropped from 30.7% to 3.1%. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has achieved the best results in the history of poverty reduction, with a cumulative poverty reduction of 68.53 million people and the elimination of more than two thirds of the absolute poor population in five years.

  Living consumption

Satisfied food and clothing in the 1980 s; In the 1990s, TV, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner and other household appliances became popular.

In the first decade of the 21st century, houses and cars began to enter thousands of households as household consumer goods. Since 2010, emerging consumption such as tourism, leisure and old-age care in different places has exploded.

  work status

In 1978, in the early days of reform and opening up, there were 790 million farmers in China’s 960 million population, accounting for 82%; Among the more than 400 million employees, there are 280 million farmers, accounting for 70%, which is a typical agricultural country.

In 2017, more than 57% of residents in China lived in cities and towns, and 73% of employees worked in industrial and service industries. Today, when the world economic growth is weak and all countries are anxious about the rising unemployment rate, China has controlled the urban unemployment rate at around 5%.

  social security

In the early days of reform and opening up, only more than 20% of the employed population in China enjoyed social security. At present, a multi-level social security system covering the whole people with the basic pension system, basic medical care system and minimum living security system as the pillars has been basically completed, ending the history that farmers have no social security for thousands of years.

  Public health

The people’s health and medical and health level have been greatly improved, and the average life expectancy has increased from 67.8 years in 1981 to 76.5 years in 2016.

Rural revitalization of farmers is more and more promising.

In my childhood memory, relying on the weather for food is something that our villagers take for granted. However, after the horn of reform and opening-up sounded in 1978, everything began to change. On October 27th, 1994, I joined the Communist Party of China (CPC). From that moment on, I made up my mind — — What to do for the villagers in the village. In 2002, I was elected secretary of the Party branch of Zigan Village, Zigan Township, Yuanping City, and I made up my mind again — — Don’t do something. I’m sorry, everyone

We make use of the existing conditions and try our best to improve the quality of agricultural development and develop rural industries. In recent years, I have done something with everyone, invested 560,000 yuan, hardened, afforested and brightened 17 kilometers of village lanes, planted more than 3,600 trees, installed more than 120 street lamps, and completed 3 kilometers of river channel project; In the planned eco-green industry, 500 mu of nursery base has been built, and nearly 10,000 mu of dried and fresh fruit orchards, mainly crisp pears … …

Now our village has become a minor celebrity. On the newly-built Zigan Business Plaza, there are more than 70 stores such as restaurants, department stores and grain and oil processing, and a new market town is taking shape, attracting more than 5,000 permanent residents. A number of enterprises have been set up in the village, and five construction teams have been set up. There are not only schools and nursing homes in the village, but also public welfare facilities such as library, computer room, distance education network and cultural activity square.

New era, new hope, as the secretary of the rural party branch, we must do something new. I know that the task of getting rid of poverty is still arduous. On the journey of reform and opening-up, we must take the road of rural revitalization in Socialism with Chinese characteristics, so that the countryside can become a beautiful homeland that lives and works in peace and contentment. I will continue to unite and lead the villagers in Zigan village to seek innovation and change, find a development path suitable for us, and make the villagers’ well-off dream come true.

I have been practicing medicine for 45 years. In the 40 years of reform and opening up, I have traveled to more than 300 families in the village and personally felt the progress and development of primary health care.

I have experienced an era of lack of medical care and medicine. In 1962, I lost my mother and my brother in one month. At that time, I swore that I would be a doctor when I grew up and serve the villagers so that the tragedy of my mother and my brother would not repeat itself.

In 1973, I graduated from health school and began to pursue my "healthy dream". I always adhere to the principle of "treating patients as relatives and not letting patients spend more money", and "giving medicine to your hands, seeing your mouth and not swallowing it", and renamed my clinic "Love Clinic". I set up a health service station, which provides free physical examination for the elderly over 60 years old, and charges 1/3 of the normal fee for those under 60 years old. Over the years, I have established health records for more than 1,000 middle-aged and elderly people over 40 years old in the village, and also established planned immunization records for children in the village.

Now, with the help of the party and the government, the "Love Clinic" has moved to a bright and spacious standardized clinic with all kinds of medical equipment. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party and the government have paid more attention to the health of the rural people, the rural medical and health conditions have improved, and the per capita subsidy standard and reimbursement ratio of the new rural cooperative medical system have increased year by year.

To strengthen the basic medical and health service system and the construction of general practitioners, and to build a policy system and social environment for supporting the elderly, filial piety and respect for the elderly, every policy and principle linked to residents’ health cannot be separated from our basic doctors. "Without the health of the whole people, there will be no overall well-off". When we enter a new era, we rural doctors can make great achievements on the road to the health of the whole people!

Labor relations enterprises are becoming more and more harmonious.

Representative of Zheng Jianjiang (Chairman of Oaks Group Co., Ltd.)

Guangming Daily, Ceng Yi and Xu Chang.

In 1994, I led Oaks, who had just started, to work hard in the air-conditioning industry. Through independent innovation, we constantly explore new markets, and finally rank among the forefront of air-conditioning industry in China. All this has benefited from the dividends brought by reform and opening up.

Over the years, we have always insisted on collective wage negotiation and general salary adjustment for employees every year. Respect, guarantee and promote personal development in salary setting, performance management and welfare projects. I have two requirements for subordinate enterprises in terms of employee income: First, employee income must be increased by 5% or more every year. Second, bonuses and incentives must reach 85% or more of the budget. In addition, the Group invested funds to build new apartments, workers’ homes and kindergartens for employees. For more than ten years, it insisted on sending employees to and from work free of charge, and chartered cars to send employees home during the Spring Festival, providing employees with medical subsidies, preferential housing purchases and interest-free loans.

The new era is the era of strugglers, and "there is income from labor" has a new connotation. Many enterprises have benefited from the 40 years of reform and opening up. For us, it is a glorious mission to contribute to the development of the new era.

Qingheng Village is located in the hinterland of Daliangshan Mountain. Poverty of the masses, poor traffic and lack of infrastructure were the most prominent difficulties in the village before the reform and opening up.

After the battle against poverty started, our village got on the fast train that leapfrogged development. The construction of highway, electric power, water conservancy, network and other projects has made the villagers rich with a solid hardware foundation.

The improvement of infrastructure not only facilitates people to understand the outside world, but also creates conditions for our agricultural products to go abroad, which inspires people’s confidence in developing industries and getting rid of poverty.

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has pointed out the direction for reform and opening up in the new era, and our villagers have new hopes. In the tough battle against poverty, we have gradually strengthened our industry, and many people have embarked on the road of getting rich in industry.

On the eve of the Spring Festival, General Secretary Supreme Leader visited the poor people in Sanhe Village, Sanchahe Township, Zhaojue County and Huopu Village, Jiefang Township, which gave us great encouragement. General Secretary of the Supreme Leader has pointed out the direction for us to fight hard against poverty in the next three years. We will push forward the tough battle against poverty in a down-to-earth manner, and we are determined to step into a well-off society with the people of the whole country.

Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, our country has taken solving the employment of the masses as an important measure to improve people’s livelihood and promote development. From "there is no road on the ground" to "the narrow path" and then to the "broad road" for hundreds of millions of people to achieve employment and entrepreneurship, it has achieved unprecedented employment development.

In this tide of reform, countless people are constantly pursuing and realizing their dreams of employment and entrepreneurship. Zhang Weilin, a "labor matchmaker" in my hometown of Tianshui, Gansu, is an outstanding representative of local migrant workers’ employment and entrepreneurship. Twenty years ago, like most poor people, he went out of poor mountain villages to make a living and dreamed of working in Jiangsu Province with employment. Since then, he has become attached to labor service. After years of hard work, he not only got rid of poverty and became rich himself, but also returned to his hometown to set up a vocational and technical training school, and successfully explored the "recruitment — Training — Transfer — Safeguarding rights — "Attracting foreign investment" is a new model for the process of labor training, creating a national labor service "400 Employment Cloud Platform" to help migrant workers accurately find jobs and start businesses, making a famous labor brand industry and becoming one of the best "labor matchmakers" in Gansu. He also won the 2017 National Poverty Alleviation Award Innovation Award.

In recent years, the central government has implemented the employment priority strategy, promoted mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and deepened the reform of streamline administration, delegate power, strengthen regulation and improve services and the commercial system, effectively coping with the downward pressure on the economy and the employment peak dominated by college graduates and rural young and middle-aged laborers, and the national employment situation is stable and improving. Practice fully shows that the most effective way to solve employment and entrepreneurship in the new era is still to rely on reform and opening up. Under the guidance of Socialism with Chinese characteristics Thought of the Supreme Leader in the New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, reform and opening up will promote higher-quality employment and a wider range of entrepreneurship, and this broad road will be broadened.

Chatting with the old people in the village over the years, they often say with mirth, "Now the government is paying more and more attention to our lives, and we must take good care of our health."

In recent years, the government has raised the basic pension standard of the new rural insurance year by year. In 2011, they only received 70 yuan every month, and now it has risen to 145 yuan per person per month.

In order to provide the old people with a sense of security, especially for the poor old people in rural areas, the government’s help and support is more than one year. We have two lonely old people, Yang Yuanzhong and Fu Xiaohong, in Tianbiao Village. The government has listed them as five-guarantee households, and both of them can receive five-guarantee 600 yuan every month. On the eve of the Spring Festival in 2018, the government also distributed rice, yuba, vermicelli, sausage, quilts and other daily necessities worth 500 yuan. The bungalow where Fu Xiaohong lives now was built two years ago with the support of the government. The tile house where Yang Yuanzhong lives now is also included in this year’s renovation plan, and a new house will be built soon.

In order to properly accommodate the elderly, five-guarantee households and elderly single poor households, our county has also explored the establishment of the first home-based care center in Jinbo Township. The characteristic of this home-based old-age care center is that in the process of rebuilding dangerous buildings, houses are built together to build an open old-age care center, and lonely old people do not have to leave their familiar homes. This is not only convenient for lonely old people to chat together and relieve loneliness, but also convenient for centralized care of them. Residents can move in without paying any fees, and there are supporting units to provide furniture and appliances.

In 2018, Baisha Li Autonomous County proposed in the government work report that in 2018, it will expand the supply of aged care services, vigorously promote the full coverage of day service centers for the elderly in towns and villages, and promote the integrated development of aged care services at home, communities and institutions. I believe that with the care and support of the party and the government, the protection of the elderly in rural areas will be more and more comprehensive and the days will be better.

"Living in peace can make people happy", and ensuring that people live and live can effectively enhance people’s sense of acquisition, happiness and security.

I have been engaged in the real estate information industry for 22 years. At the beginning, I couldn’t imagine that the living environment in our country could reach such a level 22 years later. This is the achievement of 40 years of reform and opening up, and it is a miracle of China.

As an enterprise that provides information on house purchase and rental to the market, we constantly innovate, provide more accurate and comprehensive information to the broad masses of the people, and provide important information guarantee for the people to live and live. At the same time, with the development of mobile Internet technology, information acquisition becomes more convenient and transparent.

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that we should speed up the establishment of a housing system with multi-agent supply, multi-channel guarantee and simultaneous rent and purchase, so that all the people can live in a house. Since the second half of 2017, the state has taken a series of measures, and the effect of real estate regulation has gradually emerged. The real estate market in first-tier cities is expected to be relatively stable, and speculation has been effectively curbed.

In the new era, reform and opening up will start again. Under such historical conditions, we should continue to contribute to people’s housing, actively promote residents’ housing security, constantly meet the basic housing needs of low-and middle-income groups, and ensure that all people have more sense of gain in the development of joint construction and sharing.

Traditional medicine has more and more advantages.

Member Wang Weiming (Vice President of Heilongjiang Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Guangming Daily compiled by Zhao Hongbo and Zhang Shiying

Since the reform and opening up, China’s medical and health system has undergone major changes. I have been engaged in medical research and development for more than 30 years in the third-class and first-class Chinese medical institutions, and I am deeply touched by the reform of Chinese medical and health system.

The new medical reform has made it a reality to get medical treatment. When I first joined the work, our hospital, as the national treatment center for nephropathy in traditional Chinese medicine, often saw a large number of patients at a loss because of high dialysis costs. After the new medical reform, the cost of dialysis dropped sharply, especially the Chinese herbal pieces were not included in the control of the proportion of drugs in public hospitals, which provided a guarantee for giving full play to the advantages of Chinese medicine treatment.

In recent years, the construction of grass-roots Chinese medicine hospitals has made remarkable achievements. The country has promoted the construction of vertical medical consortia, and three first-class Chinese medicine hospitals have established Chinese medicine consortia with county-level Chinese medicine hospitals. National and provincial famous traditional Chinese medicine experts’ inheritance studios have set up workstations at the grassroots level, which has promoted the sinking of high-quality resources and effectively improved the level of Chinese medicine medical services in counties.

By promoting the construction of the national clinical research base of traditional Chinese medicine, our country has made gratifying progress in the clinical research of dominant diseases of traditional Chinese medicine, and a large number of specialties and special therapies of traditional Chinese medicine have emerged throughout the country. The fourth national general survey of traditional Chinese medicine resources has covered 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), which is of great significance for mastering true and accurate data of traditional Chinese medicine resources, improving the protection of traditional Chinese medicine resources and developing and expanding the traditional Chinese medicine industry.

When the reform is not completed, it must be carried out. At the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, we still need to make further progress on many issues, and the vast number of Chinese medicine science and technology workers should promote reform and opening-up with greater courage and determination.
