Chatter talkaholic

A few years ago, there was a movie called Shopaholic, which told the story of several people who were addicted to shopping. When they saw their favorite items, they couldn’t stop, even if they owed huge credit card debts, they had to take them home. Such people are called shopaholic in English. By analogy, then the "chatter" we are talking about today is talkaholic.

Chatter talkaholic

Talkaholic is a person who takes great pleasure in talking. A talkaholic has trouble keeping quiet and listening when other people are around.

Talkaholic refers to someone who likes talking and enjoys it, which is what we call "chattering" Generally, when others are present, it is difficult to talk without listening to others.

Similar words like workaholic and shopaholic are all ended with the same suffix -aholic, which means of an obsessive interest in something.

Both Workaholic and shopaholic, like talkaholic, have the suffix -aholic, which means they are extremely interested in or addicted to something.

For example:

Jane was a talkaholic who gave everyone her opinion whether they asked for it or not.

Jane is a chatty talker. She always gives her opinion whether others want to listen or not.
